Need help with what lights to use!!

The bottoms of the floor joists are at 8 feet, top of the galvanized trellis rigs is at 5 feet. I do try to stick the lights up between the floor joists to get a few more inches. Kinda cheating a little lol.
Awesome, I appreciate the feedback.

Is there an app for this forum? Feel like it would be very convenient for everyone to utilize.

About 20 inches is as close as I wanna get, 24 is what I shoot for. I do have REALLY good air circulation between the lights and the canopy. Any closer and I get chlorosis (bleaching) even if I keep them cool enough to not burn. The tallest buds in these photos are about 20 inches from the light. Thos few buds that are leaning over were a little closer before they started to lean, maybe 17 inches. lol

If you can't get really good airflow between the lights and buds then you will want more distance.

You can be too close and not burning them, so it's not just about burning them. I don't know why you are being so mean to this guy. Smoke a bowl and lighten up (pun intended).
LOL No I have not, but my partner has for years.

Normally they say about 3ft for the Gavitas. That’s why I was asking.
Because hes never grown before and hes asking extremely basic questions. Hes trying to do a 2600 sq ft room with zero experiance.
I'm not exactly being mean, I'm being realistic, see above where I asked him his budget and said it would be 31k for hps and 100k for led. He never responded to TRYING TO HELP HIM.
It's such a stupid question to ask "what's a good light to use" where theres no other info. How many amps does your building have? How many amps is your cooling unit? Has cooling even been concidered?

It seems like hes on a fast path to losing everyone involved a ton of money and I'm helping most by helping him realize how little he knows, or atleast that's my hope.

A smart move would be to INVEST the time in doing a 100 sq ft grow, or even a 1000 sq ft room. That, or simply trust the experianced person in the partnership. If someone who knows nothing trys telling someone who knows more it will ruin the partnership. And if his partner is incompetent it's also doomed.

See what I'm getting at here?

At any rate you'll need to calculate the COSTS and PROFITS you need to offset them. Then you start to know what you'll require. Will .5 GPW get you by? 1GPW? If your spending 30k-40k per month in electric on top of a 100k in equipment cost how many months can you go before your sunk @Drew23

You’re a funny guy to say the least. Amps is not an issue in this scenario. A/C has been accounted for already.

I was just looking for a recommendation on lights with the room and heights I have to work with. Brand, Watts, etc...

I totally get all your points I just don't see why everyone has to start making those judgements on here. You are correct about all those points, I figure he didn't want to go into a long post just to ask a simple question. Anyways I am not bashing you for wanting to point out these issues but just saying stuff like "have you EVER grown before?" doesn't really help.

Man if money isn't an issue then go with a shit ton of COBS. Hang them as high as possible if you want to light the whole area and try to get about 40 watts per sq ft if running CO2. Run the room according to a VPD chart and pump CO2 up to 1200 PPM. It sounds like you are commercial and probably need listed fixtures so go with the Timber.

Well it's safe to say in 10 years here I've seen this type of post a lot of times. So as funny as it may seem, its valid.

Let's look at this another way...
What's a good car? I havent driven before.

Theres a few answers to that. Then the person asking the question refuses to answer questions on the budget. See what I'm getting at?

You say the ac is covered but you still failed to tell us anything about it. It's a key part of the question.

You arnt providing the information required for accurate answers. Theres NO SUCH THING as a one light fits all light.

We could get into all that if he would answer any question. Unfortunatly.... he wont.

Lets all start over and try to make this a more productive conversation. @growingforfun you are a smart dude and you seem eager to help. Lets help. we can ask questions without having an attitude.

Realistically you shouldnt be asking what lights to use if your plan is to run a 2,600 sq ft room... because hopefully you would have atleast ran a 100 sq ft room, and this is like 26 of those.
And to run a 100 sq ft room youd know exactly what lighting you need.

But... what's your budget? For 31k you can use hps, and for 100k you can use led. There ya go.
@Renfro
Then more recently I asked about cooling, and how long he could run at what costs before he was sunk. I've really tried to get info out of him over and over but he refuses to provide any.

At this point I think the painted rocks are still the best option given the info hes provided.

I just think you started off on the wrong foot with the first several posts and after that he wasn't inclined to answer your question. I think that you can understand that.

That was a quote of my FIRST post on the thread. Common dude you have to see what's going on here. I know you havent been on riu forever but this is a weekly event where someone posts this type of thing.
Someone with access to more dollars than sence (allegedly has the dollars atleast..) asks extremely vague questions about a large scale op and then has no way to show they have any understanding or have any idea what they are getting into.

Or maybe they just want input on that single matter without going into all the little details. I see where both sides are coming from. Anyways peace out brother.
