Need information on lighting

I have a plant about 3 weeks old. It started outside for almost 2 weeks getting all the sun i could let it get. Then i had to move the plant inside a trailer we own next door. It has nobody living in it and has no air conditioning so it gets hot in there. But for the past few days i have been doing 12hour on/12hour off on lighting. But i don't know what i should do about lighting at this time for the plant. Is it too late for me to change the lighting like that or should i just stay where I'm at. I'm confused because I've seen people talk about doing 18/6 and 24 hours for 6 days of lighting. Please let me know what is best and i will post pics soon as i can figure out how. Thanks.

Blow>>>If any!!! LIGHT get's to the plant in the dark period it doesn't matter what you have done so far What kind of light, how far away? What are the temp's? OVER 88 degree's and you will stunt plant!

Well it gets fresh air from a fan in the window aimed at the plant so maybe the close to the same as outside. Also, about how tall will it be when its ready for transplant?

Well with a container that size about 12-14" tall will do then use mycorrihaze when you transplant it, are you using light's?

Keep light 14-18" above plant with timer set to 18 hours on and 6 hour's off..make sure no light enter's when dark period!!

Can you explain what you mean by Phillips plant light? is that a florescent? T5, T8, T12.?

Blow: I imagine you've read sandiegojack's post, you should get better lighting. Re: to light timing, I personally would go 18/6 to veg maybe 1 week or 2 to aclamate it to indoor light, then change to 12/12/to flower. You can veg longer if you wish but it will get taller obviously, it's up to you....hope this helps.

Yeah, i already had the light so i decided to use it since it does say its for plants. But im just doing bagseed anyway. I was just going to try a quick grow without investing anything at all. haha Next grow i will have it all planned out before i get seeds(which i will get online somewhere next time) and have money saved for equipment. I've been working extra hours at work and i got like 200 to just spend on whatever and im thinking about growing hydroponically. So if anyone knows a cheap but good place to get everything, i would appreciate..

Yeah im not doing anything else until i get my hydro system and stuff for next time. And thats what i was planning on doing was going ahead and doing 12/12
