ok so i gota question and need some help:wall: my portable ac keeps making my 400w mh go off when the ac kicks in and starts cooling. it was pluged into the same outlet so i switched it to one across the room and now it's not doing it anymore. my 1000w hps is not in use right now so im not sure how the lights are going to work out with the ac and lights on at the same time, including pumps, fans, ect. im assuming i'm going to need more power in my room. my question is how, when my rooms upstairs and he breaker box is downstairs on the oppsite side of the house?? thanks

find out what is on each breaker to the room.it sounds like the outlets are on separate breakers so if nothing else is on either breaker that draws a heavy load, you will be ok.best to turn off all breakers & 1 by 1 turn them on to find out what is powered by it and make a map or list.you may find an outlet in an adjoining room that has little load.a short, heavy extension cord may be able to take some of the load off the breakers.
if needed, Running a new line to the room is possible and a good idea if the house wiring is old(over 40 yrs)a good electrician will be able to do it.a wire (properly rated) could be run up the outside of the house to keep costs down or you could find a chase from basement to attic, then drop down to your room.another option is if you have a closet on the first floor under your room, you could run the wire along the wall up, lots of ways to get a wire to any point in a house, just depends on the layout.

first of all add up all the amperage ur grow room needs to operate lights , pumps etc
Then find out which breakers runs what in ur house mark it on ur panel, second find out what size breaker is on the line 10 am , 15 amp 25 amp etc.
Then look at guage of wire goin to that breaker. find out what guage it is then once u determined what guage of wire is on that line find out how big of breaker u can put on it before the wire melts an burns down your house

you might have to use a snake and re wire that breaker line and run a bigger breaker

if u need to re wire measure how much wire u will need from panel to plug in allow 10 feet extra of wire shut off the power to that area
open up ur plug in pannel remove it from wall ( IN UR GROW ROOM ) hopefully u got access in basement if not will be tricky locate the wire thats goin to that plug in basement ( your going to be pullin that wire back to panel.
join together the new wires to all the existing wires in the wall try not to make
the join points to big cause the plan is to pull the new wire into the wall as u pull out the old wire out GET IT thats where snake comes in handy you twist snake it opens u put wire in it as u pull it gets tighter and u will not lose the wires
before u you do this your going to need to make a tripod of some sort
the wire you buy will come in a steel spindel u will need to make some sort of stand so that they will turn easy as u pull the wire

once u got wires to panel disconnect main power off thats the pannel to arm goes up and down once u did that
look on your main breaker pannel im sure u got some extra breaker spots with a screw driver open up one empty box run ur wire in it look how others are wired and re wire accordinly once thats done
go to ur grow room thats where ur wireing next open some other plug in box on a wall that was untouched look how its wired re wire just like that one and once all done close up main panel box click in the breaker turn on main power and happy growin dude :))

Yea figure out which breaker is for what room, generaly most houses have 15amp and 12amp should be your safty cut off. Generaly Living room, Kitchen, bedroom(s), hall way and bathroom all run off dffrent breakers.

yea i'm pretty much clueless when it comes to this kinda stuff so i can't run a new circuit and i don't have a basement. How am i suppose to get an electrician over here to run a new circuit with the room operating, he's gona have to go in there right? also what's a good excuse for doing so without making him suspesious? thanks guys

you dont have too much choice, either diy or hire an electrician..... I'd say the easiest way to do it would be to find the circuit with the least outlets/lights/etc on it and run a wire from an outlet there (in the attic of course) and install a new outlet in your room to end that circuit.... its fairly straightforward and easy with a little google help as you're only wiring a simple outlet..... be sure to do this all with the circuit off, or you'll turn it off the unpleasant way :)

have your electrician add an outlet to a room near the grow & use a heavy extension cord. when picking the location, consider what will make it easier for both you & him.(his time is your money).
as for a reason for needing the outlet, depending on the location, a wielder, pottery kiln or a PC server needing a 20 amp dedicated circiut could work.

he doesnt want to hire an electrician, the grow is already there.

this is what i would do if i could run it myself

i would run a heavy duty ext cord to a recepticle on a separate circuit to finish grow then go buys a couple plants to explain grow or dismantle then call in a electrician
but i will warn u they r going to beat your wallet up or you can google and learn how to do it and save money

Just advise that a kidney dialysis patient will be staying with you for a month or two and you need a dedicated 20 amp circuit. You could run two 1000k lights off of that if you needed to.

I highly suggest you find a friendly electrician. not out of the phone book, but ask your buddies... Their is a pot friendly electrician somewhere in your town, just give him 40 bucks (or a bag) more than normal fee and politly ask him to never speak of this work you did (arrange this before he gets your address)... If you don't know him already, maybe meet up with him at a bar to talk about the work you need done, and how much power you will be using (whether 120v or 240v) how many amps you foresee using, etc..
