Hey everyone ,
So here is the scoop. I just started flowering yesterday. First time I've had the lights off for 12 hrs and noticed it got down to 50f and the humidity was at 95% I live in a very humid area of Alaska where it rains a shit load.almost 200 inches of rain a year . That being said, I have an intake and an outtake opposite from each other. Intake is low, outtake fan is high . Obviously my humidity is way to high. like a lot of newbies would do, i have too many plants for the room I'm using to grow. SOG. A lot of them are touching each other. haven't given them very much pruning at all but thinking I might need to, to get good air in between all of them a little better. I held off on pruning because I read that leaving it alone will allow the plant to produce more sugars. Is it too late to prune? Bushes everywhere pretty much. I have two oscillating fans going on them as well. Running with lights out as well thinking it will help prevent mold. With the lights on, I use the Intake and outtake fans for air circulation and keeping the room at 75f. Without using them it gets too hot . With lights off, I have to turn them off and cover them so no lights enters the room since my lights off period is during the day. At night it would be too cold in the mid 30's to have my lights off period. Any suggestions on how to fix the humidity and prevent mold with lights off ? I have a dehumidifier on the way, have the fans going as well. Maybe put a heater in there ? I will if I have to but I'd rather not cause most run at 1500w. I was hoping to save a little on the electricity bill during flowering stage. I'm using two, 600w HPS.

you want about 10 to 15 deg b/t lights on and off.

i'd run your intake and exhaust and the other fans 24/7. high RH now isn't a problem but will be when buds set.

Rather than adapt your grow room to fight mold/fungi, which is 'correct' thinking

also take a few minutes to understand what fungi are all about

cause unless you re locate you will be attacked several times per year

also: ensure your inlet is passive, taking air from inside the house is warmer with less Rh in most cases

I fight fungi 2 times per year ..march and September

right when all the world is roughly 12x12

I fight with Neem Oil 1x teaspoon to a pint spray bottle add warm water shake like mad and spray

1x time per day, avoid over watering, keep ur plants very dry as you dare b4 a wilt..?

also neem(cold pressed is best) is organic and systemic

I now feed a little to my pets to kill worms,

and now add it to my curries, for flavor

good luck

Sorry I don't think I mention I am doing this grow in a 8x12 shed that isn't connected to my house. I'd really like to keep the intake going but light comes in from it and it's pretty cold out at 38 degrees today. I didn't know been oil helps fight fungi. I have some but don't know if it's cold pressed , I have to check the bottle.

Ok thanks rkymntman. The dehumidifier should be good when I get further along you think ?
i would try the heater first. i wouldn't go below 60 or 55 degrees in the shed. i have one of those little ceramic ones that you can set to whatever temp you want and it runs automatically. the dry heat from the heater should help.

but a humidifier on standby sounds like it would be worth it. last thing you want is to get some really nice buds and then get mold.

Yea I've put a lot of time and money into this lol you know how it goes. Last thing I want is to mess it all up at the end. Went in there when lights came on and RH was at 99%. The dehumidifier gets here Friday. I'm gonna hook it up right away. It only holds like 30 ounces of water at a time so I figure I'm gonna rig it up with a hose and have it drain into a 5gal bucket or something and run it non stop. I really don't want to run a 1500w heater but I will if the dehumidifier doesn't work. I can only run like 1900 watts in that shed before the breaker pops.
