Oh CN! I am so sorry. I missed your entire grow. You know I carefully subscribed then unsubscribed from your first thread. Occasionally I'd wonder why you were being so quiet, oops.

Did I mention this occurred somewhere around the acquisition of my Pax? LOL I actually unsubbed from this thread not the first hahahaaaaaaaa! Stoners.

No worries. You didn't miss much ... just my flapping&squawking while I found out that chronic <cough!> ozone poisoning is bad for weed plants. Like good, true, loyal coal mine canaries, they warned me that ozone can be overdone. cn

Are you certain it's ozone and not P? That is precisely how my leaves looked when they were telling me I'd forgotten to switch to bloom nutrients LOL!

I *have* found that, late in the grow, the root mass and medium began to pull away from the pot's sides. This made channeling (rapid runthrough of nute with poor absorption by the medium) noticeable. The next time, I'll try the "Advanced" medium from Sunshine. It uses coir and not sphagnum, and I expect it to be less shrinkage-prone.

You know I never let my pots completely dry out, so mine never pull away. But if I do they will also pull away.

IMO P is not needed in excess amounts in container gardening whether in flower or not...tissue sample analysis shows it is least used of the macros with calcium being needed up to 3 x's more than P...The use of high P foods is a bleed over from Agriculture to gardening to indoor container gardening...as P is readily leeched off from soil and binds quickly with soil farmers of old upped the P during fruiting to combat it and it worked...only later to discover that the soil was now P laden and other measures were now required to "heal" the soil...they since have employed better applications of P freers in their formulations...however this does not occur in containers so it actually inhibits growth ...

Now a P and K spike at the end of flower may increase resin production due to the stress factor but IMO much more important is a cal and sulfur boost mid flower on as sulfur is required for synthase production which produces the desired cannabinoids

as for the pulling away...do not let them dry out...use a fast draining high perilite etc mix so overwatering is damn near impossible and keep them wet

And cn with your gait you should be a soil/snow expert:lol:

you think that maybe it contributed to your disdain of plasma?
No. I am almost certain the plasma light did its own damage. If I can, I'll test the proposition one day.

I didn't really intend for them to dry all the way out. With four plants that had different transpiration rates ... and a desire to not overfeed/overwater, i got surprised a couple of times. cn

Sorry didn't mean for that to sound like a criticism of you. I was trying to poke a little fun at myself for my tendency to over water! oops

lol! I sounded defensive, no? I will say I had higher hopes that the ProMix would be more dimensionally stable. Channeling sfter drying was one of my beefs (beeves??) with Fox Farm soil. They're both sphagnum-based,a dn i will wonder if and how a coir-based medium reacts differently. cn

I actually did that with my previous grow ... it was in Happy Frog which is also mostly sphagnum. It didn't help much there ... even the soaped nute would bead up. I can report that whatever the ProMix guys do to render their sphagnum more wettable lasted for the whole grow. cn

the key to peat is upon initial wetting it must be entirely saturated or it never will absorb properly

You're Kidding? Congratulations on the Baby!!!

Seriously though, you can't tell the future, for what will happen will happen. I betting you'll be back. Besides, how the hell are you going to cope with the outrageous prices of Marijuana?
