MARCH 27--Meet Vince Shlomi.

He's probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room.

According to an arrest affidavit, Shlomi met Sasha Harris, 26, at a Miami Beach nightclub on February 7 and subsequently retired with her to his $750 room at the lavish Setai hotel. Shlomi told cops he paid Harris about $1000 in cash after she "propositioned him for straight sex."

Shlomi said that when he kissed Harris, she suddenly "bit his tongue and would not let go." Shlomi then punched Harris several times until she released his tongue. The affidavit, a copy of which you'll find here, notes that during the 4 AM fight Harris sustained facial fractures and lacerations all over her face (she is pictured here in mug shots snapped following busts in 2008 and 2005).

After freeing his tongue, a bleeding Shlomi ran to the Setai lobby, where security summoned cops. Harris refused to cooperate with officers, who recovered $930 from her purse. "Both parties had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from their persons," police reported.

In a brief telephone interview, Harris declined to answer TSG questions about her run-in with Shlomi, though she did say she is considering a lawsuit against the pitchman. Asked if she worked as a hooker, Harris declined comment.

As seen in his mug shot, Shlomi was also injured during the fracas and, court records show, was treated at Mount Sinai Medical Center. While Shlomi and Harris were both arrested for felony aggravated battery, prosecutors this month declined to file formal charges against the combatants. Police records list Shlomi's occupation as "Marketing," but make no mention of his affiliation with the ShamWow or the Slap Chop, both of which sell for $19.95 (plus shipping and handling).

if the apartment manager knows about it and does nothing, maybe it is a real disorder and he is afraid of getting sued. either way, if a tenant is causing a disturbance and being a nuisance he needs to be dealt with. being obnoxious stops being a right when it infringes on other people's peace in a place where people pay to live.

In some cases yes. I however HAVE to take antidepressants in order to allow me to have a fuse.
It is an uncontrollable rage, you do not get the option to count to 10. Something happens and it is like a trigger.
The good news is is unless he is just a prick there may be help and I hold him responsible too seek that out rather than abuse the people around him.
I deal with anger demons daily.

As stated he may not realize he is disturbing you. And if he does know then it may just be
he is ill equipped to make personal social changes.

Of course there is a distinct probability the the dood is an asshole and there is nothing that you can do to change that.

i'm intolerant of building managers who don't manage the building and laws that don't provide alternate living arrangements for people who can't or won't control themselves. i would gleefully pay higher taxes if it meant people with mental issues had someplace to stay that actually suited them instead of throwing them in a building full of people who are accustomed to getting rest at night. i lived in the same building with a schizophrenic for years and the cops didn't do anything even as they witnessed him threaten my mother's life in front of their eyes, let alone all the other shit we had to put up with (banging on the ceiling, smashing glasses in the yard, blasting music, constantly banging on my mother's door asking for money, arguing with everyone, etc.) shit was ridiculous. if i did that shit i'd be arrested, but a crazy guy does it and i should be tolerant? the cops thought it was funny. i wanted to kick them in the teeth. the eviction process took 6 months because of his disability and he kept fighting it. it's fucking bullshit, especially knowing he had 3 sisters with good jobs who should be taking care of their own family member if he can't live on his own, not dumping it in society's lap.

tolerance goes out the window when it causes innocent people to be shat upon. fuck that. it's not my fault they closed all the mental hospitals and replaced them with prisons. i still have to work in the morning and i'm entitled to sleep, not 24/7 drama.

As far as the medical thing, my parent's neighbors son got Lyme Disease. I have zero understanding of things it causes, but he went from a star athlete highschool kid who was smart, to a young man who goes outside and howells as loud as he can a couple of times a day, and he can't play sports and left school too. Anyway, he yells like a banshee, screaming and cussing, along with the wolf howelling. It's very strange to see, and very sad.

I 100% agree with Total Head, living in an apartment you are entitled to at least some kind of peace and quiet. People gotta work, I'm a commercial plumber and I gotta get outa bed at 4:30 every morning, someone outside my window yelling at night would send me off the deep end. But, it could be worse. At least he doesn't live above you.. Could stomping and yelling at the same time.. Probably just needs to burn one and relax, maybe next time tape a doob to a paper air plane and send it his way lol..
