Ok, well i gave it a double dose of nutes today. Hopefully it doesnt hurt them, its been a while. And no burn yet. The nutes are pretty weak anyways. High in nitrogen though.

Lmao, yah definatley, but im almost 100% sure it was a hair, Funny thing is i cant find it now, But im still pretty convinced u got a female. And its takin that double dose of nutes Very well. Also what do you guys know about Urea?. Because i am using miracle grow. And ive heard its bad. But it seems to be working well. Its also in the plant food. Which is also MG. Its Urea Nitrogen? i dont even really know WTF urea is

urea is a major component of piss.

it is a source of nitrates.

MG is a harsh fertilizer, but it works... i would knock off the double dose right quick though... the thing with nute problems is by the time you see a problem it is way to late.

also, as you are in flowering, you want to lay off the nitrates anyway. in the N-P-K realm of things, the high N is for veg... by the end of the grow, you want to have the plants pretty well starved out of N. (which is why the fan leaves all start to yellow by the end of the grow).

Yea, marijuana doesn't take to well to high dose of nutes. Keep your P/K values nice and steady.

one mistake that i made many years ago was thinking of the nutes as "food" for the plants. they arent food, they are nutrients... so, just like you cant live off of all the nutrients you can buy at G-N-C, your plants cant off of just N-P-K. the actual food for the plants is the water and the light. all the other stuff we do is just to make the plants use the water and light the best.

something to keep in mind with nutes is it is far easier to add than it is to remove. by the time your plants tell you they have too much of something it is far too late because the damage you are seeing is only what is above the dirt. a big portion of the plant lives below the dirt. this is why you will find people slowly working up to a level of nutes when they try something new rather than just hitting the plant full on with a super high concentrate.

oh, and to be clear.... don't piss on your plants ;)

So before i start flowering 12/12 this weekend i am gonna get something higher in phosphate. and low in nitrogen. its really not a strong nute though, i just wanted to give it that last blast before i start flowering

wait, you arent flowering yet?

trust me, that aint a pistil you are seeing then! do some more research on sexing plants.... you still have a bit of learning. my guess is either fresh sprouts or stipules.

trust me on this, "last blasts" of anything are an advanced method. get some growing experience behind you before you try and get all mad scientist on your plants. keep it simple and clean and it will grow.

I just bought Expert Gerdener Organic Mix All purpose potting soil. And i mixed it with 30% perlite. Schultz Perlite. The soil is enriched with Organic Ferts. .06 - .09 - .06 NPk. Should this be good soil for flowring due to a little higher Phospate. But i had it in miracle grow moisture control before. Which had Urea Nitrogen which is bad. So was this stuff a good idea? I also bought some food for later in budding. Its Pennington Tomato & Vegetable food. the npk is 9-12-12. Should this work good for later in the budding process?

did you make sure the Perlite didnt have nutes? getting harder and harder to find untreated perlite.

enriched soil has its advantages... one of them being less need for mucking about with nutes... but the downside is there is no good way to control how the nutes are released... you wind up going from too much to not enough to right back to burnt quite often.

if you are wanting to use additional nutes you might just want to go to what is called a soilless mix. doing it this way means you have total control over the nutes. obviously, it is both more work and riskier.

the N-P-K is in the right direction with the Pennington stuff, so it should work.... of course, since you are using enriched soil, you will want to add this stuff with care and in small and slow doses and keep an eye on you pH.

the trick to any feeding is it is always easier to add some than it is to remove it.

just lost a plant this week due to not following that bit of advice ;)

Yah, im not gonna feed it until Later in flowering. And the perlite is 100% perlite. I checked it all out.

Yea that soil will be fine. They have very small amounts of nutes in them, so don't worry. And those nutes should work as well that you bought.

Give 1/4 strength of recommended dose on the product. You don't want to burn your plants.

What kind or perlite did you buy?
