make sure you Ballast doesn't have shitty reviews.
Cheap ones aren't worth it
From what I've read all great reviews except for one person said his ballast went out in one month and got no help do u know anything about the one I've selected. Would be happy to find another I have 2 months before I place the order

well, with cheap ballast its a hit or miss. Theres always a chance of that happening to you.
So you gotta just take the risk, also don't forget to get an osculating fan for your grow and bug mold repellent

600 w is your best bet.
You get more bang for your buck than a 1000w in a 4x4, and save alittle more on electricity.
I've been seeing you are making alot of threads. You really need to read the old threads because 1000s of people have had the same questions as you. Experienced people get tired of repeating themselves so they just ignore most threads that can be solved by simply reading. Just food for thought...

I appreciate it, its just suck a pain trying to find direct answeres I have searched hundreds of post especially since I found this place but after hours of searching its a lot easier to hope someone will say it again or post a link. But I understand I'll try to keep my questions to min. And not bring as much attention.

How about you ask your questions on a single thread if it has been getting replies, instead of making 5 different threads in a day.
And tell me about it, I've spent months obsessing over reading info on how to do what and why this is happening etc.
since MJ is still in the dark so to speak. We have to mine for those small gold nuggets of info; also making sure its not fools gold
you feel me?

yeah, but sometimes people just don't have the time or energy to do so...
Then again there should be no excuses, people could set aside 30 mins a day here and there.
Its not alot however it adds up before you know it.

Then I think they should just stick to supporting their local weed man who does. Because if they don't have the time to research they don't have time to properly take care of a needy lady like Mary Jane.

This IS absolute BULL SHIT! In a 4x4 - the 1K will beat the 600 everytime!
600's are more "efficient" overall. They set the most effectively in a 3x3 ft space and 1K's in a 4x4.
In a 4x4 the 600 will work for indica and indica dominate strains but, fall off effectiness from sativa and sativa dominate strains!
i find 1K's to work well for sativa's up to a 5x5 area.

By the way.....Go ahead and ask your questions. Yes they may have been asked many times. They will be asked many times again.....just skip the one's about when to flush (research that one) and how much will I yield with this/these plants (no one can really tell)...

im not saying to keep them to a minimum, just saying to be more efficient with the way you go about things.

Thinking maybe your problem then....The increase in light intensity in a 4x4 area from a 1K over a 600. Will give better results, faster accross the board. 600's are best for a 3x3.......Now stop arguing (you don't even list why you think that) and start learning.......Like I said, if you take into account all the factores. 600's are the most efficient, not the most effective.....by the way. If you include other alternative forms of lighting......COBB LED blows away HID! In all area's!

The best advice you will ever get in these forms is to do your own research, the reason I say this is there is a million ways to grow and just as many set ups to grow with. On top of that there are many here with strong opinions that they have the best way and some do but maybe not right for you. So start small figure out the basics an go from there. This is like anything else you will change your mind a hundred times and you will replace your equipment as needed or as wanted just try not to over think it.

I'll be using a 1000W EYE Hortilux to do an 8x4 tent with it hanging off a 6' light rail soon. Not much to put in it yet but planting 90 seeds to do a SoG thing in there in a month. Need to get a pile to fill my empty jars! :)

A 600 will do 4ft wide but it will be a little less bright along the edges. A 1000 will really rock it all over!

As for those cheap internet package deals it is a bit of a gamble but I haven't heard to many bitching about dying equipment and it's an easy starter kit to get going with and can end up being the veg tent when you step up your game. Want more reliability then go with good old magnetics. I got a bunch that are 20+ years old and work great. Less noise than an air pump with two 400s going. You only save a few watts with a digital and they generally cost a lot more unless they are crap. The cheap digitals burn out bulbs faster too as they have inferior electronics which stresses the bulbs. I still use a 15 yo conversion bulb on an hps ballast to get veg light and the plants grow fine tho I know I'm not getting as good a light now.

After going back and looking at your listing you might be better off with the 600. Lot more heat with the 1000 and 40% more power used and it should work fine in a 4x4. I'm gonna be doing double that with the 1000.

Have fun growin'!

:peace:
