New grower please help

hey new grower here and I seriously need some help. So I germinated two seeds they both cracked but only a baby tail came out of the seed I planted anyway. That was 5 days ago and nothing sprouted, so I went digging the seed out of soil and put back on paper towels since it still wasn’t showing root. Did I just fuck up complety? Should I just star over with new seeds? Please help

seems like they didnt grow at all, usually when the "crack" at that moment you want to monitor the seeds ever hour or two to have like <1cm of root development. before the root gets to long and digs under the paper towel.
better off starting over.
how long did it take the seeds to "crack" before you put them in soil?
if they are bag seeds you got from your local supplier than i start over. if you bought them from a known breeder i would say "i messed up...i better not mess up a second time"

cheers and second try is a charm

I soaked the seeds 24 hours then placed in paper towel for another 24 hours that’s when they opened, but I got the seeds online I now have them In a paper towel again

There are a lot of good step by step germination process that are simple. My advice on everything from this point on is to read and research everyday you can about everything you're unsure about if you're a new grower, like myself. I start my seeds out in a pill bottle that's filled half way with warm water let them sit in a dark place (I stick them in a dresser drawer) and then check on them until they crack... like I said man read, read, read, read some more.
