I didn't get pictures last night but the coco is still pretty damp around the center of the pots and it has been about 36 hours since the last watering. is it normal for coco to take that long to dry out? will it hurt anything to cut my "tray" down so the fan blows on the pots as well to aid in drying out the coco? Or am I being a worried newbie for no reason?

There is no need to drench your pots every water or feed. I only drench every two weeks with water/ Humic, fulvic, kelp mix with molasses. How much water are you using?

I dampened the coco before I put it in the pots with RO water. The last watering was 1 cup in each pot of nutrient mixture at about 1/4 ish strength with botanicare pure grow, liquid karma, and CalMag. it was enough to just start dripping out the bottom of the pot. I am sure that I am worrying over nothing and being too careful but I'm new to the game. it seemed as I had all the answers when I was reading and researching then as soon as my seeds hit the dirt, I went full retard and knew nothing all over again. lol

I know the feeling. I questioned every spot and any yellowing any purple stem. Just remember these girls are very resilient. They are not as fragile as you think. Just don't over feed. Under feeding would be better if anything. Eventually you'll find your favorites strains and stick with them. You'll learn what they need when they need and have them completely dialed in. Just patience. Get a ppm meter to test parts per million of total dissolved solids of your feeds. Move up the ppms weekly little by little to see what that stain can handle.

What kind of coco are you using? I ask because I noticed you not mentioning rinsing the Coco, but if it's buffered there's no need for rinse.

I have cheap pH and tds pens. I will finish out the gallon I mixed up and then mix up the next gallon at half strength.
I'll have to double check but I am pretty sure it said pre rinsed and buffered. That said, it came dry so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Your coco might contain peat which takes a while to dry.

I'll double check the bag tonight. I know the seedlings are still in their rapid rooter plugs and those are peat based I believe but it seems to be holding a lot more moisture than just those are capable of.

Your drifting towards "I'm going to LOVE them till they die." Don't water / feed by date... Water by WEIGHT. When you water, WATER! 1 cup at a time is silly. SOAK THE COCO. If it takes 5 days to dry, it takes 5 days. If you go and look at the issues in the Newbie section, Your doing what most all others looking to save a plant have done. RELAX.

To each is own. I find to have more control this way. Not literally a cup, but I like for it to dry within two days in order to feed twice a week and fit a water to leach within the schedule.

I'm curious to know your method if you wouldn't mind quickly and briefly going over it. I'll try it out. I just do it the way I was thought and it works just fine with no burns or deficiency. Didn't mean to work you up. If the medium is wet for five days, how do you feed that week if you start to see Def?

Start with Water/Water/Feed and see how they do. You can always go Water /Feed is she looks hungry. BIGGEST MISTAKE you see on here is over feeding. Know what a dry pot feels like and what a Happy plant looks like. You can ALWAYS bump up the Nutes, just can't take them back.
