New Grower - Trying Coco Multi-feeding

I decided to attempt coco multi-feeding after doing not so great with DWC. A few cliff notes would be:

*1 gallon pots watered 6 times per day with Canna Coco nutes; A+B, Zym, Boost, PK.
EC is around 1.4 atm. Got a little tip burn which I assume was from a pump failure letting the coco dry out too much.

*pH is always between 6.0 and 6.2.
*Had fungus gnats but treated with Neem oil and they're almost eradicated.
*Strains are unidentified.
*Lighting is 400w Bridgelux LED. Fixture is just mdf with holes cut for each chip and the optics.

How do you guys think they look with roughly three weeks to go?

Yes, watering is on a pump with a timer. Runs for 1 minute every two hours during lights on. I have no idea how much they get per feeding or per day. I just adjust the individualised valves until each plant gets a small amount of runoff after 60 seconds.

Kwigy...I think your tip burn was from your nute level being too high. You should be able to calculate the total nutrients needed for one day. Then divide by 6 for each feeding. Apparently you are not of the "less is more" school of growing.

Thanks for the info. I really didn’t think 1.4 was high but maybe these strains are a bit nute sensitive.

I still think the EC spike from the coco getting too dry was the cause as it happened shortly after the pump failure but hey you could be right John.

Your're there with the plants and could be right. Drying will do that. Just watch your plants for further burn. They can recover easily from a minor burn like that. Oh and check your runoff now and then to be sure you're not accumulating salts down there.

I'm with JohnDee about your nutrient level being to high instead of drying out. The reason is your picture shows them very dark green which is a sign of to much N. I'd dial it back a bit in my next grow if I were you. Also every 2 weeks in coco I give them a good flush with tap water to get rid of excess salt build up.

Your plants look good. You have done nicely on this first foray into coco, nice job.
 
Thanks curious. Very kind of you to say. Yeah you guys are probably right. I’ll back off the nutes a bit more next time and see how we go. :bigjoint:

I’m planning on a 2 week flush for the last two weeks. Or is that too early/long to flush?

I don't flush except for salt build up every 2 weeks. I just chop them at the finish line instead of starving them at bulk up.

They are your plants and they look fine. If you want to try flushing, enjoy and maybe try it differently next time.

The end of grow flush is very debated and mostly a matter of individual style. Commercial guys do it to limit cure time...to get product to market.

If you keep nutrients fairly low and monitor runoff occasionally...the interum flush Curious is talking about may not be needed. Just a reminder though, that middle of grow flushes should be either low dose nutes or hard tap water...but never with straight RO water...which will wash out your cec buffering.

Good point, thanks. My tap water runs 250 so it's about perfect.
