Welcome to RIU! Always nice to see new growers join! I myself am a first time grower and have found great advice from this site. Take in the information people give you, but also be willing to do your own research as well. The search tool on RIU can really help prevent you from asking questions that have been asked a thousand times. The reality is it is your grow, and YOU have to make the final decisions with your grow!

As far as any advice, I recommend being careful with the nutes especially with mg soil. MG soil often has time release nutes in the soil already, and mixed with fox farm you could possible run into some issues of your plants being over fed. I haven't used mg soil as I have read many bad things, however I have also seen some great grows done it. Just keep an eye on the plants for any signs of nutrient burn, etc.

Best of luck with your first grow! Definitely no expert here, but if you ever have a question don't hesitate to ask. I will do my best to try and help or if nothing else someone here should have an answer for you!

Miracle Grow time release ferts have too much nutrients for seedlings so if you are on a budget flush the crap out of it first. I personally would hit it with a high dosage of Hydrogen Peroxide first to kill any bugs then flush the living hell out of it. I personally love solo cups and the little plastic bowls next to them on the shelf in the grocery store to use as planters. Cloning is easy especially if you go for a bubble cloner. Fish tank pump, small air stone, light proof plastic container and some holes on top. Micro growing is fun especially if you are bumping little clones through there on the perpetual. That's what came to mind, good luck.

Keep in mind there are people that successfully grow using nothing but mg products. From what I have seen its just more so a matter of the grower honing in and fine tuning his own grow, no matter the medium. Every grow medium presents its pros and cons, same goes for nutes in my opinion. Either way just make do with what you got and keep trying to improve over time, thats the best bet.

If you got fox farms trio you could always try hempy buckets. I use the trio on my hempy grows and it works fine. Plus if you're on a budget hempy just requires perlite and vermiculite which are roughly $4 a bag for 2 gallons at most hardware chain stores. Check them out because many like them due to their easy nature.

@jape. Thanx for the info mate as of now ill be researching & try that on my next seedling ... have some more germinating. , btw have yuh try this method in buckets or the cup .. if so how did it turn out ?

Yeah all the plants I'm growing right now are hempy. You use 75% perlite and 25% vermiculite. Seems to work really well and once the roots hit the reservoir the plant really takes off. The first time I did it I took cups that were soil and put them into the buckets. The soil resulted in an uneven retention of water and gave me some stem rot. I now have clones started that have been in hempy the whole time and they're doing way better than their previous generation.
