i personally think questions should be answered no matter how dumb they are... isnt that wat this site is for we get new people every day and they dont kno wat questions have been asked yet which is why they will ask the same ones.

also they are new to the site so how in the hell should they kno where to find the growing guides n shit....

ask me any question no matter how dumb and i will answer it no matter how many times that question is asked
dumb questions make the forums repetitive and boring. IMO

I'm a new grower and forum member. I've done a lot of reading on the 'net, this site, in books, and have watched several videos. Guess what? None of it provided me with practical experience. I, like many others, come here to ask for help from people who do have experience to put everything together. If you don't want to help people stop reading topics where people are asking for help. If you want to bitch at a newbie for not having as much experience and knowledge as you you might want to look into improving your confidence and self esteem. If you see someone has posted a topic that's been covered, how about you link them to previous topics and tell them how you searched for it? That would ACTUALLY be helpful, as opposed to the "you're a stupid newbie" replies. Most of the help I've gotten on this site has come from other forum newbies with experience growing.

+1

I've been smoking dope longer than most of you have been alive and definitely longer than there has been an internet, PC's, etc. lol!!! BUT... I AM a noob to indoor growing, that is what brought me here in the first place. I have "met" some incredibly knowledgable and helpful people here --- I have also encoutered a few world-class assholes who seem to think they are too good to answer questions, but instead bash the questioner (I'm betting most of them are your typical 20-year old keyboard commandos!!). That being said, this is an absolutely wonderful site and pretty much anything you want to know about cultivating the sacred herb can be found here.

But please guys ---- cut us old farts some slack!!! We didn't grow up around computers and are not as proficient in the cyber-world as many of you. Often I have asked a very simple question and been greeted with insults and derision --- yet no one will/can answer the question! Usually some elder member will eventually step in and answer, but you get my point??? I have run every possible search I can think of before I will post a question. I KNOW the info is there, but often I don't know how to find it. BUT, I'm here to learn about indoor growing, not internet bullshit!!!
The point is, there was a time when YOU were the ones posting annoying, repetitive questions --- we will all go through this phase in our journey, but we will also all emerge from it more knowledgeable than we were. It is then our duty and privilege to spread this knowledge to those who follow in our footsteps.

I need help ! I'm just starting a small , simple closet garden . I have started growing two plants on a a 12/12 lighting schedule from the start. I've been seeing posts saying i need to change the lighting to force a flowering phase .
And my second problem , well possibly a gift , Is the smell . The weed was a strain stronger than i've ever experienced , and rather smell like skunk they're only a month old and starting to smell like strongggg armpits. Lmao . Any ideas on wtf i'm doing wrong ? Don't criticize too hard , im an obvious newb !

In the spirit of Christmas, I'm going to try to answer this question, but I have to say this first. This thread is not for "New Members" to ask their plant problem questions. It is a thread about "New Members" not asking simple questions that they otherwise could answer themselves, if they took the time to do their own research and not just ask other members to do their homework for them.

Your lighting problem is a little different, but I think if you put your plants on a 24hr cycle for 7-10 days or so and then go to a 12/12 cycle it may bring them into flower. As far as the smell go's. You'll have to vent the closet somehow and use a carbon filter and fan. Merry Christmas.

isnt the whole point of forums to help each other out? if you don't like helping out new people then stop looking at their threads. sure some questions might be a little strange/obvious to more experienced growers but give us a break. it's like learning how to stick shift and being slammed for asking how to use the clutch and gas together to shift gears. I've even noticed it on my posts, there are a lot of rude people on these forums but the few helpful people make it worth sticking around for. peace.

I have been lurking around reading this forum for about two years now.i thought it was about time I joined and started learning and asking my own questions around the forum.
I'm not a complete noob I have learned alot from this forum, and my local friends already, buy I still have much to learn.
I grew up on a farm so gardening has always been a way of life for me.

Over the past couple years I experimented with a couple different strains, and a couple different growing methods.
when I did dirt I did not use organic nutes but the crop was pretty good for a first time grow.(bad cureing though)
the second time I tried a couple buckets(top feeding deep water culture, water was well oxygenated)but I way over did the nutes and did not have enough ventilation in the grow room.
the second attempt was a big fail, way too much heat so the plants wilted.and I burned the plants with nutrients as well.(diddent even get a harvest,my fault)
So third try I was setting up a ebb and flow system at a friends house to try a third grow(I know very complicated for a noob like me)
either way my friend got paranoid before we even set up the room and now I'm stuck with all of the equipment at my house.....whatever I can keep it for the future when I'm more expericened.

So now after a bunch of crap,I finially live alone again, and am in a financial situation to start looking into growing again.
i want to keep it simple at first, just normal dirt setup im not sure what ill use for nutes probably a combo of organic and non organic.

Anyways I can do more introductions in a different section
