I'd say 3 weeks or so maybe...? They can grow for a while in solo cups. I'd say once you get a few more nodes coming in, then it'll be ready. But everyone does it differently. Good luck!

By the looks. I would say this is the first node. I did cut the first 2 permanent leaves off because they got light burned. So is that 3 weeks total or 3 weeks more?. Lol

Well i just did the transplant. Oh boy it needed it. Look at the size of these roots. This is a barneys pineapple chunk. Its growng awesome and fast. This was just a seed in a wet paper towel on july 30th.

Good looking roots. My rule of thumb is I want to transplant when the crown spread is getting toward 150% of the pot diameter.

In other words, if your pot is 4" across the top, transplant when the plant itself gets about 6" across viewed from above., or sooner.

What you want is a solid root mass that will hold the transplanted rood mass together during transplant, and you do not have the soil sagging off the roots and damaging the fine hair roots.

Pro-Tip Water well 1-2 days prior to transplanting. Don't want it too dry or too wet, just damp where the soil will hold together

I didn't see any drainage holes in the bottom of the solo cup. It's hard to keep a seedling properly watered if there is no where for excess water to drain to.

I usually want seedlings in solo cups to reach a height that is twice as tall as the cup rim is wide. Years have shown me that is a good sign that the roots are starting to need more room. Your s'ling looks healthy.

Good luck, BigSteve.

I did have holes poked in the bottom of the cup. But i actualy transplanted it today. When i took it out of the solo cup it had a real nice root system.
