Hello all,

So I'm new to DWC and this is my 1st attempt at it. I can say I am impressed already! I swear my seedlings are growing about 1/2 inch or so per day at this stage and they have only been in the DWC 3 days! I have also noticed something, As you can see from the pics below I already have 5 fingered leaves ( although tiny ones but still! ) These seedlings were Propagated in soil for about 2 weeks to allow some decent roots to take hold then moved into the DWC.

The thing I am impressed with is when I grow in soil, I don't start seeing real fan leaves till about 3 1/2 weeks or so and I can literally measure them with a measuring tape in the morning and by the same night, More leaves and they have gained roughly 1/2 inch in height lol while this might just be a fast growing strain or something like that, I can't wait to see how these things take off if that is what is happening. Anyway, here are the pics!

now I know the bottom "starter" leaves look awful, but I think this is from transplanting them into the DWC But new growth looks healthy and green, so at this stage I don't think its a concern.

Any comments / Advice are welcome.

Ill keep everyone up to date on my progress.

Hey sorry no one has replied yet, so I'll give some input. I too am doing a dwc for the first time. Mine were clones, but my bottom leaves looked bad at first. Then once they got a bit larger, I cut off the bad leaves and haven't had a problem since. It's most likely from water splashing on them with the lights on causing burns. Growth wise I agree much faster than soil. Are You doing a tote style setup like the stealth hydro? Or 5 gallon buckets? Are you doing top feeding like bubbleponics?

As Promised a short update :

Things seem to be going along great, Babies are growing a little faster than I expected but that is a good thing, so not much else to report at this time 8) Next update will be on Friday, and here are some pics to compare with the pics from 2 days ago. Not a huge amount of growth but not bad for 2 days, can't wait to see them friday! I currently have 2 girls going here because for the space I have ( 4'H x 3'W x 4'L ) any more would be problematic.

Yes that is dirt in there with my rocks but I do not have access to rockwool at the moment but plan to use that next time, Also one of them is a bit bigger than the other even though they were both started the same time, this is from bag seed so I have no idea what strain or phenotype it is but a little more time in veg sould atleast give me an idea what strain dominant these are.

Comments / advice is welcome and thanks for looking.

See ya on friday!

Yep I am using a 15 gallon tub, because my girls were 2 weeks old give or take when I put them in there, Their roots were developed enough for the water splash to keep them moist as the dirt is pretty good at wicking the water to them, almost like rockwool lol so, so far so good 8)

You won't go back :-) looks like you're doing great. Dwc is the easiest growing method I ever used, and with fantastic results. Once I got the hang of things, I only had to tend to my plants once a week. I went from watering every couple of days to filling some buckets with eater and forgetting about them for a week. Perfect :-)

8) yea, I used to hate hand watering my girls, Mixing up their neuts, ect, This method is pretty much propagate, then set them in the DWC after about 2 weeks and let em do their thing, I just hope my state goes at least medical next year so I can set up a RDWC system and let them grow with alot more room to stretch their legs so to say, as it is now, Im gonna have to limit them to about 12-14 inches in veg so they dont over grow my box in flower lol, kinda a shame to have to limit them in a DWC system tbh.
