New to Smoking & New to Growing

Im using NUTRIFIELD PREMIUM COCO as my medium tho, i thought there was very little buffer in it because it wasn't full of slow releasing nutrients like regular soil is

Oh yeah sorry forgot you were using that. It's actually buffered to prevent nute lock out so it should actually be fine if you use pH'd water with your nutes. See how the seasol goes, it should help it pick up hey!

shit aint looking good, im thinking over night and today while i was away at work it must have slowly nute burnt away

nuteburn.jpg

i gave it a flush with water, wont be watering it again for a few days. by then the pH digital tester should be here.

and if all else fails hopefully i dont repeat the same mistakes on my last shot. no more seeds to try to germ. and i dont have time to order more seeds and then try to germ and grow them before the next inspection. so its either this works. or i wait until after my next house inspection in feb some time. dont want to have to move the whole set up while in the flowering phase. too much hassle

come on fuckers, live! :(

Ah shit dude :( that's not good hey! Definitely a case of nute burn, just by looking at the tips! I dont understand how it burnt so quickly, you only gave it one dose of seasol and its seaweed extract so shouldnt do that grrr! Sorry mate, if you need another seed, i'll send you a couple of mine!

Keep giving them fresh water as you've said and hopefully it will pick up.

And just freshwater for the other one too, just to be safe!

No idea, MTT idea of a little was half a teaspoon in a 9 litre bucket. Was that too much?
Yea the other one will get water only for a while lol, in sad i had sacrifice one to learn that lesson lol

Nah man 1/2 tsp to 9L is bugger all, i gave my little girl about 1/4 of a capful to 9L and she's fine lol. That would be about 20mLs hey!

Dunno mate, got me completely buggered. You definitely should be watering with pH'd water though in coco, i know that much. The buffering only works if pH'd water is used otherwise it takes too long to rebuffer and puts it out of whack. I also read that some people water coco like hydro and dont let it dry out, so friggen confusing lol! I'd still water once every 2 days with water for a week and see if they pick up! But dont soak the medium, just give it enough water for a drink and check on it the mext day, if it needs more just give it a touch..

Every time I've watered i have soaked it through, I'll give her a light watering next time and see how she goes
Three burn looks like it carried on through the night a little. Its abit odd considering i flushed her task good yesterday. Didn't think there would be any nutes left in the soil to burn.
Ohh well, the other pot is doing well. Nice and green so I'm hoping she will pull through better :)

Coco holds nutrients until the plant needs them so its possible that the plant hasnt needed the nutes and hence it burnt them...sti strange though. Just wish i had more knowledge on coco to help
out hey!

That's all good, you've been more then enough help lol
I feel like im harassing you about it too much as it is lol
Thanks for all your help so far mare :)

So it looks like the plant is dying', lucky the fresh one is doing pretty well and I think all its going to be the sole survivor haha

Ah shit dude, sorry to hear hey! Ive been hoping someone with more coco experience would pop in and give some advice :(

It looks like she is going to die, on the flip side.. my second one is doing well and in seeing noticeable growth every morning. Going to take extra extra care of her lol

Ok not sure where to start, how about the beginning, The first sign of the brown tip, that was over watering. Over watering does another thing, stops the air from getting to the roots by compacting 'stuff'. The water you apply should be taken away by a healthy root system. Picture the little baby girl and the tiny roots. doesn't need much water. Think in terms of pussy moist (not my quote but an effective description me thinks), not too wet, not too sloppy. Next - A seed can take care of it self for a bit - no nutes. In general I think you made the classic mistake. Over Water, started drowning, tried to save with some nutey thing, badda Bing badd boom, dead plant. Remember these things grow on their own. Give em light, a bit of water (how often does it rain in nature?), Air and the right temperature - its in the 70's where these plants grow. This is a great hobby, enjoy the journey

She's doing well mate :) just keep doing what you're doing!

Looks like you may have an indica dom plant in that one too, nice fat leaves coming out ;)

Woah holy crap thats a long flowering period. Im wondering if thats actually the whole grow and flower though due to it being an auto! If so you'll be wanting it to hurry up and grow man or you'll have to pull it up early!
