Hey stink!! I have been vegging Nirvanas Ice for about 4 1/2 weeks now. I have 4 plants in a DWC system and im using GH Flora Nova Grow and will be using the bloom as well with some koolbloom liquid and dry to finish them off. So far they are a very vigourous plant they grow very well so far with this hydro setup, i went to bed one nite and they were 4 inches and i come back the next morning and they jumped up to 9 inches over nite. Lots and Lots of side branching already and ive super cropped them a couples of times and the side branches just shot up right next to the main top. I purchased the feminized seeds by the way. I have what i beleive are 4 plants with 2 different phenos, the one set is about 15 inches very long branches and their stalks are as big around as BIG sharpie marker. The other 2 are a bit shorter at just 12 inches but they are both much smaller in stature than the other two, these have look like they are gonna turn out to be short bushes and the other 2 might get a good stretch, not really sure though. I had a question also that i hoped you could answer for me maybe, the reason i am vegging so long with hydro, I usualy put my plant in 12/12 after 2 weeks of veg is because i have read on here about not flipping the lights until your plant has reached sexual maturity. They say you will know this when you have alternating nodes instead of one parallel to eachother. What i wanna know is are they talking bout alternating nodes on the MAIN top or just alternating nodes on any of the branches? 90% of my side branches are alternating but my main tops nodes are still side by side, maybe you could shed some light on this for me. Also, im growing with a 600w MH and 600w HPS for flower. This is my 5th grow with the hydro and 10th all together, but i would still consider myself a beginner novice...lol I have some knowledge but lots i still need to work on. I love nirvana I have grown Shiva,WW, Bubblicious, chrystal, Snow white and wonder woman from them and now ICE!! So far Snow white was my favorite i got 17 ozs off of 4 plants, i had one cola that was 2 ozs dried and cured. Well its 5am Im stoned as hell and rambling...hahaha Hope you can help me out. Peace!! Im glad to see someone else with some insite on the sexy strain

I am led to believe they are talking about alternating nodes on your main branchs when you begin to see that you know that your plant is getting very mature but if i want to go strickly for maturity before flower let the plant do it itself by showing its pre-flower..your grow and syatem sounds great i cant wait to see this through im sub'd to you if you start a journal please do..your pulling 17 zips off 4 girls that hot..peace

Hello all, and let me say things have began to get a lil out of hand with one of my babies. I went in to check on them this morning and the tallest plant had grown over 4 1/2 inches almost touching the lights good thing my light temps are very good at 76 deg constant so they did not suffer any ill fate but this one plant is the one with the fatest leaves and it may be on the verge of out growing my old box.I dont know what to do becouse the main shoot is so thick i dont think i can train it or bend it without trouble..ive never grown ICE before but the stalks are hell of thick all the way up to the new growth..anyway here are the pic's of the new cab ive got the true dementions are 62"x22"x32" not including a top section for storage or clones..not bad for 26 USA $!!!

Well let's just say i did'nt feel like taking a chance and having to rush my new box into the mix so i just set these babies on 24 hour dark to begin flowering who knows i may not even have any ladies in the bunch we will see..Wish me girls!!!

thanks guy there is one problem i now know i cant control the size of the one plant so i hope it is a boy i'll drop that punk into a extra closet and let his balls swell and polenize one of the females if im so lucky this plant is a monster for just over a month old shit...need batteries for camera but you'll see this weekend for sure 23" and only about 30-32 days old..

OK so i finally figured out how to upload pics on this darn thing lol.......These are my feminized Ice seeds from Nirvana.......I also included a pic of how my set up is a lil bit, i just went back to my closet after using a grow box that i absoultely hated, but it was more me than the box..lol Im just now getting the hang of this ventilation stuff, yesterday i went to lowes and got a new thermometer and put it in my closet and my temps were like 98 degrees!!! I had never really monitored the temps all that well in this closet and couldnt believe how hot it was in there. When i bought my tent a few years back i also got a hydrofarm 6 inch inline fan 400CFM for it, i needed a way to incorporate that fan in my closet but me being mechanically declinded doesnt help one bit...lol Anyway i busted out my dremil and cut a hole in the top of the door and mounted it and then cut a passive intake at the bottom, shut the door and stared at my temp monitor for the next 30mins..lol

It helped out alot as it brought my temps down to about 83 degrees but its still not where i want them, i would like to have them around 77-80ish. I live in the deep south and this years summer has been a record one for us (heat index was 116 yesterday) so its been harder to keep my house cool so im not sucking in much colder air right now in my grow room, im using a closet in an extra bedroom and the temp in the room is about 79. So instead of the passive intake i just ordered a 4 inch 80cfm duct fan from htg and im gonna use that and hook up 10 ft of ducting and run it to my daughters room, for some reason her room is the coldest in the house temp in her room right now is 73, i dont know why maybe more insulation in her room or something, but im gonna suck that cool air out of there straight into my closet and hope that brings my temps down to where i want them to be.

They are doing very well though, they look gorgeous and im going to switch them to flower most likely this sunday. The biggest two are already 20 inches and i hear these ladies like to stretch in 12/12 so i dont wanna outgrow my closet, although i do have an 8 foot celing in the closet. I wanted to wait until alternating nodes but i think they should be pretty close to maturity by now so im just gonna make the flip. I hope you like the pics and i will keep them coming as the grow continues. Stay High!! Peace!!

Yes they are looking really good Mrrider are yours really thick stemed as mine are ive never had stems this thick on a 30 day plant hell most of my harvested plants are not this thick and my leave are super huge and fat almost abnormal it's wierd i can only put it at it must be the co2 im using first time using it shits like steroid...

Yea on my 2 biggest girls the stocks are prolly as thick arounf a one of the oversized shapie markers if you know what im talking about. how are you running your Co2? I hear it is like steroids for plants, cant wait to see what kind of yeild you get using it. how long before you slip the lights?

so here they are as you can see the monster is huge but not very bushy yet with extra large leaves,the other two are mostly the same bushy and fat leafs from my experience most very lanky less bushy plants are males anyone know? all help is very much welcome and appreciated...Peace

They just finished 24 hour darkness at 8pm tonights and are on the first of 12/12 as we speak check out the pic's of the monster and the leaf structure as well tell me what you think..The last pic is the monster cant really tell but the thing is right at two feet now and only a month or so old..jeez

Im my limited experience with non feminized seeds my males were usually the most vigorous growers and the tallest.

glad i came across your grow journal, read all the pages and man o man your babes are looking beautiful...

i just started 4 ice seeds from 420 seeds on tuesday they all popped through my soil mix yesterday and this morning, one is still tying to crack the shell of her back...

hope you dont mind me asking a few questiones for the odd tip here and there, i'd really love my plants to hopefully look like yours one of these days, but had some bad luck with some old ak-48 seeds a couple of weeks ago where they just stopped growing once they popped through the soil....

this is my setup basically
soil mix = 45% potting soil, 20% vermiculite, 25% perlite and 5 % earthworm castings
lights for now are 4x 36 w daylight flourescent tubes (but i do have 2 x 250 W MH for when they get a few more leaves going)
temps are around 24-27 degrees or 79-82 f
pots are around 4-5 inches high 12 cm round

so my first question to ask you is how did you germ your ladies? paper towels, peat pellets???
2nd question how much did u water once they popped the soil?

reckon i'll start my grow journal tomorrow, perhaps u could give me a little health assessment if u dont mind as u growing the same strain as I

Well first of all your set up sounds great =, I personally dont use vermiculite only perlite and i also only use pro choise soil very reasonable and good balance for starting seedlings.as for the ICE strain so far as i can tell they like nitrogen i go a lil heavy on the (N) with grow nutes and micro. Your lights are fine for now but as soon as you get a couple nodes put them under the MH they will thank you for it.And yes they seem to love the co2 as well, one thing my roots are very thick yet they are noy very firm so i would sugest that you put a good fan on them early to help strengthen them up for the long hall..Im using 3 gallon grow bags if you have the room you'll maybe want to move up to at least a gallon or two pot size if you have the room..Health wise they are very vigorous and large fan leaves no trouble so far..when my babies popped soil i watered as i seen the top soil dry out a lil and i did so with a spray bottle about 4-5 sprays per sprout some a lil more..Hey i hope this helps you out and when you start the grow journel be sure to let me know..peace
