Nirvana Ice Ice baby+AK48(first grow thread).

ya dude, im going to be transplanting the party cups into bigger pots this weekend. i also cut the dying leaves off the hashplant and added more soil to the top layer, watered and it seems to have grown an inch overnight. seems to be coming back to life. thanks for the help!

Good to hear =D Did you transplant the hash? And all of them are looking great! You're doing way better than my first 3 grows haha Of course I learned the hard way =/
Happy grow'n

yo dude, i grew ak48 and ice check out my journal below, just harvested 5 oz off ice a few weeks ago, its some GREAT bud!!! GL!

Ya rootbounding can cause yellowing bottom leaves from my experience as well. Transplant the hash into a good sized cup and it will take off in about 2 days. As for catching up, ya you can let the others catch up with the hashplant except it depends on phenotypes remember. Some plants will end up lanky while others will be bushier. Think of them as a group of 6th graders lol Even though all will generally be about the same height, you'll always end up with some chubby ones here and there along with the tall skinny ones =D Just try to not have the ice+ak's in party cups more than 3 weeks or they wont be partying Ill tell you that haha Just like the hashy theyll be rootbound =O It's amazing the root structure mary jane develops so young Good luck ^_^
ya i agree looks like time to transplant!! And Ice is VERY big, id say to top her, i wish i did... ak is about medium size so ull have problems when u get into flowering with lighting as i did..bud on my avatars from one of the ice

i didnt transplant the hashplant yet. i think the issue might have been lack of nitrogen as mentioned below because the second i added some fresh top soil to the hashplant it grew out a bit and looked alive again.

day 19:

transplanted them from party cups and into bigger pots. also fed them for the first time with 25% of recommended ff dosage. they still look small but hopefully with the added nutes, fresh soil and bigger pots they will get bigger.

Yep, I see overwatering on some here and there but good thing we caught it =D They look great still and will really start to take off in height and size. Btw only water when they start to droop and you'll see a huge difference in growth. The overwatering really slows plant growth=/ Anyways everything looks great man. How long you plan to veg may I ask?

thanks, hopefully they start grown faster. i will do what you say and only water when they start droop a little(not alot). the reason why i kept waterng them is i was watching jorge cervantes grow dvd and he says never leave the plants without water(drooping) because it 'stresses' the plant. whatever id rather see if look stressed and make a recovery than have yellow leaves n shit from overwatering. also now that they are in the bigger pots, how much should i water them? should i water them until i see water draining from the drainholes? also should i water the entire pot or only the stem part of it? and im not sure when im gonna start flowring. my tent is 5'11 in height and with the light that probably gives me close to 5 feet of grow space. my concern is i dont want them continuing to flower once they reach the top. i plan on having 5 plants in there. i read a good amount of plants for a 270w hps is 4. with the rest of them i might put them on my balcony and continue growing them out there.

Don't worry about stress from underwatering. Overwatering puts 10x more stress on a plant than under watering. Just slowly pour maybe a 1/4 cup(measurement) per plant right directly around the stem in the middle. When people go by the "water out drainage holes" for watering, that leads to overwatering. Just wait for the leaves to hang down and give them some water. If they seem to droop a lot, don't worry, it's alright. Just make sure the pot is light as can be and dry before giving them water. Like I said, Over-w is worse way than Under-water'n. Jorge's videos can be helpful at times, but can also cause problems like they did for watering. For flowering, Id switch to 12/12 when they all are around a foot anda half. G'day

so ive got a problem. about half the plants i have are about half the size of the others. ideally when going into flower id liek to have them all the same size. if i 'top' the bigger plants will they remain short until the others catch up?

Topping the taller ones can help but it's hard to keep them even height wise because of phenos... I'd suggest using booster seats for the shorter ones... Shoesboxes, crates, old magazines etc can lift the shorter ones even with taller ones... Sounds like everything's going well besides height =/ G'luck

day 26:

fed them with half strength nutes. hopefully they can take it. i plan on flowering once they reach 1ft or in 2 weeks whichever comes first.

Good to hear. The yellowing stopped since the over-watering stopped =D Just imagine your second grow with your added experience ;]

fucking hot dry ass weather today caused my plants to droop. came in today and my tent was 82 with rh at 20%. opened the tent and all the plants were dry as fuck. oh well, hopefully it cools down here. this was the exact reason why i chose a 250 over a 400!

day 32

fed them some grow big at full strength, hopefully they can take it. next week they go into flowering!
