Second DWC grow... First was a bagseed learning experience and I yanked the plants once I got my Nirvana Fem'd Northern Lights seeds. I've read so many great things about how well this strain does in indoor hydro setups, I'm eager to see what kind of results I get. Must say I was impressed with the 100% germ rate on the two I papertoweled. They cracked in under 24hrs!
I plan on vegging for about 4 weeks and LSTin' both plants to maximize light/bud ratio. I'm running a 19-5 light on them now. I had them on 24hr for the first couple days and I see no difference so i figured I'd save the little $$.
RDWC setup with two coolers. I live in a warm climate and temp was a definite concern. It's easy to just plop a frozen gallon jug in the sump rez and maintain my 65F all day. I'm using two 100g+ aquarium air pumps connected to 4 ceramic airstones. A 60gph pump in the rez circulates everything around from cooler to cooler and makes it easy for me do any dosing/jug changes. I keep the PH 5.5-6.3 but it's been stable at 5.9 for the past two days.
Using two 6500k 125w Mogul CFLs for veg. I'm only running one right now but will be dropping the second one vertically down once I see the need. I have a huge 250w 2700k for flower and I'll be adding some mid range (household 65w probably) CFLs at specific sites that need it.
I'm using Cal-Mag plus in my R.O. water and the Fox Farm Trio for nutes at about .5 of their hydro schedule right now. PPMs are running about 350 on a hanna meter.
I'll be covering the walls once the lights move up a bit more with the same material I used on the lid of the cooler. The room temp is 82F daytime and about 75F night with ~60% humidity.
Let me know what you guys think!!
