Nitrogen Deficency? Maybe Something else?

Plants look fine the bottom leaves are the first to come and the first go.Keep doing what you are doing and the plant should give you a nice crop nice close internodes.Any newbies take note this is how a plant should look if the lights are kept close to the tops.If the bottom set of leaves yellow up any more i would take them of any how because when you start to flower the bottom of the plant will produce very little any how.Tyke

Thanks for saying that, it's great encouragement, I've spent a long time trying to get it right, it's been a great rollacoaster so far and there's still a long way to go but I think things might be setlling down a bit now.

Famous last words :)

Famous last words :)

Well my friend came back last night and he persuaded me to top plant 5 and it seems to have gone really well.

Being a bit stoned and impressed with plant 5, I got carried away and decided to top plant 4 too! They're now both recovering and look a lot better after I watered them this morning.

They must be in 3 inches of soil if that...

The photos are a bit misleading, the plants were in 5 inches of 65% compost 35% perlite mix, I've just added another 2 inches of purely compost on top. If that makes the mix more solid I'll be able to repot them safely but until then the pots seem far too crumbly for my inexpert hands.

you still need them in deeper soil, the roots will soon be crying out for more room.
They were repotted today, I think it went well and they now have lots of fresh soil to grow into. I took some pics while I was at it, the root ball pics are of plant 4, I didn't think about taking root ball pics until after I'd started repotting plant 5 *doh*

So I just moved my ladies into flowering 3 days ago. I'm using Canna Nutes, fed through a spaghetti-tube top-feed system. I've got the girls sitting in coco, and getting fed in 2, fifteen minute sessions. One when the light comes on, and one 6 hours in. Today, on the biggest leaf, of my biggest ChemDawg plant, I noticed an odd pattern of yellowing. I think it's got to be Nitrogen, judging by the look of it. Can anyone confirm or deny this for me? Most other deficiencies I see seem to expand from the edge of the leaf, but this seems to be a striped pattern along each individual section of the leaf blade. I feel the need to explain it, as I know my pictures have a huge yellow glow that is hard to see through, caused by my 1000w HPS. As a first time grower, I'm sure I'm being obsessive, but I'd rather catch something before it gets worse. You can see the rest of the canopy looks pretty solid. Thanks guys, and sorry for the discoloration, but I think it's still easy to see stripes. Taking suggestions...
