I may have had my light too close. Would this explain the lack of trichomes on the tallest buds? (whereas there are trichomes on the lower ones)

unless youre burning the plant I doubt it. Are the pistils up there still white? If so just be patient and wait for the plant to do its plant shit. Different areas mature at slightly different rates.
