and i do this process over and over and over the whole time she grows and buds....sould i back the heat off???? id be doing this every day well rain every other day and feed every other day so she shouldnt dry out that quick should she?
Yeah you do it when she wants it, every plant/garden is different but you can tweak your temp, humidity and circulation if you have a way to control it

In the end it is all up to you!, I have merely taught you what to look for and what to expect :bigjoint:

so as long as it "rains" shortly after she "eats" I can feed her every other day......should i temp it out to make the soil stay moist longer so to space out the feeding, maybe you just want me to shut up and watch my plant..lol.. yours looks very yummy..... is tht under just 1 cfl... wow.... my 2nd grow i have decided to get Aroura Indica said its a dense " hash" type bud medicinal qualities and shes short... im gonna use cfls cause theyr readily available and theyr not too hot...... maybe get my hands on a hps ( small) for flowering.

thanks for all your help.!! did you read the " click part" haha i was stoned wen it happend too..

totally up to you, as long as she is doing what you want you just let her go, if she is not doing what you want you tweak things

what I said in your garden you are God and Mother Nature, treat em right and they reward you :bigjoint:

not sure what you mean by the click part ???

Well I made it rain on the girls yesterday. Just used r/o water with no additives. I let it rain till the runoff was as clear as it was going to get.(my tap water is over 8 PH and hard as the back of Lincoln's head) When I woke up this morning and checked on them they were up and transpiring away. Thought I would find em all curled up and hurting again, but no.

They may not look it but they are doing better than I have seen them do after a watering. As you can see in the pic's there has been some issues. I burnt the hell out of em with the 3 part nutes and that was at less than 1/8 strength? They also showed what I thought was a Zinc deficiency but I think that is taken care of.

Temps 82 and I have a fan blowing across them to help with wicking off of the water. I think they are def ready for a meal so I am going to watch them for the next couple of days. Probably feed them Monday if not sooner.

Here is some pic's from this morning.

Peace

I think the way your mixing the nutes is wrong? I remember you saying 1 cup nutes to 7 cups water that is very strong from everything I know but not sure what your nutes are or the instructions?

Basically if the instructions say like 1 teaspoon per gallon of water you would use 1/4 teaspoon to a gallon of water

if it was in fact what you were doing 1 cup to 7 cups of water you would do 1/4 cup nutes to 7 cups water

just go with 1/4 of what the instructions say on the nutes

and remember your babies are still fairly young so,,,LESS IS MORE

Hey riddle,

Thanks for the reply,

I think you got me mixed up with someone else. I did'nt use the 1/4 cup nutes to 7 cups of water thing. I made the mistake of useing the three part nutes at 2ml of each formula.(Way belowe recmendations by mfg'r) After seeing the burn and reading this thread over again I shelved the three part in favor of just a Shultz 10/15/10. Going to use that with the H2O2 and Mollases next time. We will see what happens.

Thanks again

Ok sorry, I just gave you instructions in your journal when I saw you were using the Shultz (I have it so could read the instructions)

I guess it's easy to get confused with so many different folks posting, plus I have not finished my morning coffee yet, so my bad :bigjoint:

Riddle,

I have a question about CO2. I've been using an open walk in closet thats part of a 10x12x9 bedroom to grow in, and because I can't keep my pets out of the area I've been forced to keep the door shut most of the time. Since I'm only growing six plants I really didn't think it would be neccessary to put in a real ventilation system, so I'm just using a standard house fan to circulate the air. What I'm wondering is if the CO2 levels in a room that size will be adequate for 8-10 hours at a time once the plants get older and start needing more CO2, or if you think I'm going to have to spring for a real exhaust system that will pull air in from other parts of the house/supplement the CO2 some other way.
The other option I have is to move the grow into my 30x12 basement. With the basement I can open a window and bring air in from the outside without any worries about someone breaking in (steel window well covers that are bolted down), but keeping the temperature in the right range would be harder because my basement is always about 10-15 degrees cooler then the rest of the house. Keeping the pets out would also be a major hassle, because the basement is pretty much theirs currently.

Best to get fresh air to em what ever way you can it WILL make a difference. I might suggest a pet/baby gate thing to cover the closet dorway so you can open it

moving to the basement would change all of your numbers but you might be able to dial it in? You know that better than I would

Riddle,

The pet/baby gate works ok for the dogs (most of the time), but the cat just just jumps over it. Trust me, I've had several years to try and figure out how to keep the pets out of various parts of the house and the only sure way is a closed door. I suppose i could install a screen door for that room, but it would be a bit tough to explain. :) I'll come up with something, I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to make too many modifications to my house or run things in and out of windows where they would be too obvious. I've got my MMJ card so I'm not worried about the police, but I don't want to attract any attention from people looking to steal my crop. That's about the only thing in my house anyone would want to steal, so I'd rather keep it as unnoticeable as possible.

Cut a hole in the closet door and install a vent (like a heater floor grate) it will look normal doesn't take much work and will solve your problem

put it low, floor level as that is where the fresh air will be

i said i made 1 cup to 7 BUT

FIRST I MADE the 1 tbsp to 1 gallon of water....... so i got a gal of reg strenth nutes.............. i pour from tht gal into a measure cup....... pour tht cup into annother gal jugg then put 7 more cups of water in making a 1/8 delution.........

its easier to delute the nute exactly rather the measuring and reducing from start.... best to make your full strenth solution then delute.....

Riddle,

Slight misunderstanding. The closet has sliding doors and I have those doors open to the bedroom. It's the bedroom itself that i have to keep the doors closed on. I'm just not sure if the bedroom holds enough CO2 to keep the plants happy for 8-10 hours at a time, since that's how long I'm gone at work most days. The only reason they are in the closet at the moment is to get some added reflection off the walls-they'll be moved out into the center of the bedroom for flowering since I want to give them a bit more space to grow in. I also think I'm going to need to add at least one supplemetary light, since I don't think my 400w is going to provide enough coverage when my girls are 4+ ft tall (they are supposed to hit 5-6 ft), and that would definately cause heat issues if I stay in the closet.

ohhhh yeah... i found a GREAT site to shop " grow lights" here is the link..... i like it cause they have all lighting options and it tells you the light spectrum and all you gotta really " dig in " this one there is an abundance of information on lighting.................

here is a QUESTION.............

WHEN FLOWERING..............the plant wants what color spectrum?????
WHEN FLOWERING ................whats the best bulb to use to provide the exact light the plant wants to flower and bud......?

I BET even riddle and UB get this one wrong................ no offense guys its a tricky question and I have found contraversy evidence that goes against most all peoples opinion as to what is best to flower with............ i got the answers so lets see how close you came......

do the work riddle like youu made us do...... here it is

http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/guide3.shtml

http://www.megavolt.co.il/Elect_corner/CRI.html

really look around...... these sites have a ton of "light" on the subject

then simply crack a bedroom window 1/2 inch and leave the closet doors open (sorry for the misunderstanding) may change temps adjust things accordingly

Not sure what your asking here, that greenhouse site has some good info (mostly about how high lights should be and grow area planning) but the other site about CRI is a waste of time, CRI is a measurement of how colors are rendered under a light and how we (humans) percieve them, has nothing to do with plants

the greenhouse site does not have or mention CMH and as I told you there is no light that compares to the sun more than CMH, I have done over 500 hours of research on lights

and no matter what any website may say there is no better light for flowering than the sun, as indoor growers we are trying to replicate the sun as best we can

If you think you have discovered something special share it and let us take a look??? I looked around the sites but did not see anything that made me change my mind on CMH lights???

the cri chart also had a light spectrum chart next to it......

the GH page at the bottom of the link talked about the parts of the light spectrum the plants liked and when............

when you look at the position of the HPS light on the CRI page( but on the light spect graph).......it shows to be mostly in the yellows.......(wich plants do not use)

they veg iin blue and violet and flower/bud in orange to red................

if you look there is a bulb thats a LOW PRESSURE SODIUM thats ALLL INNN the red........

so if CFL's are violet and blue ranging from 3000k to 6500k thats the exact call for the plant to vegg.......

then you got the LPS(low pressure sodium) thats right there exactly in red/orange ( the plant uses the most during flowering/budding)..............

and the MH bulbs were so close to white I dont see how it could be benificial in any way.......

all im saying is to vegg in florecents and floewer in LPS................

do i not have something here?????

Riddle please do not think I was downing your CMH.......... I have looked atit also and believe very strongly that would be the best way to go...........BUT

IF IN VEG you only give the light needed to veg..( blue/violet) wouldnt the plant benifit more by not having to "filter" through diff lights to get the right one....

THEN IN FLOWER you ONLY give th RED to put budding into over drive and would possibly slow some strech....

WHAT I AM TRYING TO GET AT is the HPS bulbs are mainly just in yellow..(plants dont use at all) and slightly in the orange( they do use SOME but what Ive read "to bud"they want more towards RED (not "slight orange" like HPS)

so whats the hype about HPS???

http://www.growlightexpress.com/pages/ceramic-metal-halide-pv-c0-2.html

riddle i think you posted this before but it does show how HPS is mostly yellow( NOT USABLE BY PLANTS!!!) but its such high intesity even with a little bit of the orange makes it successful.......

what i think is why not save the energy and heat and expense and actually hit the plants with the exact light spect they require and nothing else....

who knows maybe I am just stoned

I DO SAY 1 THING riddle IS RIGHT about the CMH it show a massive amount of ALL colors and alot of BLUES AND REDS.... so this would be a great universal light ...less hassle no switching out bulbs or making seperate rooms and on top of that conveinience it puts out way more USABLE light then HPS BY FAR

hey man, im jus wondering is there any thing other then under/overwatering that causes drooping? my super silver haze has been drooping on all the new growth. shes been sucking up water like crazy, every morning the soil is bone dry on top. i water every day till i get a good amount of runoff. just fed with FF grow big for the first time like 1/10th strength, i jus put like 5 drops ina gallon lol but i dont think she is under of over watered, and my room gets pretty cold at night, could that cause new growth to droop?
