Hey guys/ladies. Im new to the site and to growing. Ive done a lot of research and i built my first grow box. Its 24" wide 32" long and 36" tall. Ive made a carbon filter that's hooked up to a 4 inch duct booster for my exhaust. I have 2- 4" holes cut into the bottom of my grow box for intake. I also have a fan blowing my lights. For lights ive got 4 - 23 watt 6500 cfls and 2- 34 watt 2700 cfls. My seeds were just bag seeds and the soil is just potting soil. Im about 10 days into veg, The grow seems to be gOing well except for the heat. I have my box in my basement which is arOund 70 degrees. But indide my box with all the lights on and the fan running im hitting hight 80,'s some time low 90's. do you think the booster fan is no good http://m.homedepot.com/p/Suncourt-Inductor-4-in-In-Line-Duct-Fan-DB204/100073963

Solved it, in had a grill on my 4 inch exhaust. I think it was restricting the air flow. I cut it out and the flow seems a lot better. And its cooling my cabinet way better now. Temps low 80's now.

open ur intake holes bro on the lowest of the box like a 4in hole or if u got a small cpu fan just cut a hole to it and have it draw air into the box this helped me so much bro it will get it down and when ur

plants get big just aim ur small fan upwards and push the incoming cool air to the top and let it filter threw ur plants and exhaust out

Ya thanks man, ive 2 - 4 inch holes cut in the floor of my cabinet. You think that's enough? Seems to be working. So ive got a 2 to 1 ratio intake vs exhaust.

good job on the temps i would def let them grow out just a little bit longer if u can wait u can cut them if u like

but i like to wait till around the fourth node when isee if their is some small side shoots starting to grow then i cut the stem right above them so that when u cut the hormones of the plant instead of going up the stem they direct out towards the shoots ...

u will immediately notice the next day they will be a little bigger hope this helps

So one of my plants has its leaves cupping. It can't be the heat because its at a steady 82 degrees with the lights on. Maybe I'm 2 close to my cfls? I usually try to give arOund 2 to 4 inches. Or maybe I'm over watering. I just transplanted about a week ago into bigger pots. Since then ive waters once right after the transplant and once today. When i water i use a full water bottle 500ml per plant. Here's some pics.

So i think i was too close to my cfls, i dropped my plants down a bit and it seemed to help. Im on my 4th week of veg now. Hopefully i can tell the sex soon. Do you think i should top one more time? If i top now i should wait at least another 2 weeks before switching too 12/12 right?

So bit of an up date, its almost been 5 weeks of veg. Ive plucked a cOuple of the lower leaves. But now some of the lower leaves are drooping and turning yellow. I haven't been using nutrients. I water about once a week. Any ideas on what's wrong or should i not worry about the Lower leaves? Maybe even pluck them? Any suggestions?

Introduce your finger on the soil and check if it's moist, if it's still dark, then is not time to water yet.
What kind of water are you using? If it's not purified water let it repose for 48 hours.
Use 1/3 of the pot's capacity in water and let it drip through the ventilation holes, wipe off the excess.

Once a week is a long time to wait to water I usually water every 2-3 days

To be honest its hard for me to tell with the Finger test. It seems dry to me when i water. I use my tap water which is town water. I always let it sit for 2 days. Could it be that I'm not using nutrients?

It might be that but start with half the dosage of nutes, try changing the soil to balanced amounts of turf, perlite, and worm meal, it improves water retention and with 75% of worm meal you won't need nutes till flowering.
