They run warmer than I was expecting, but less than the cmh. You could always put the drivers outside the grow room though if you wanted to keep it cooler. I have mine attached to the boards now. And I would check out the Rspec's if your thinking hlg. They have the added 660 reds.
Awesome, I will definitely look into them. I still have a few weeks before my next grow and I am not making the same mistake with cheap lighting although I am doing better then I thought I would. Thanks for the information it is greatly appreciated!

Ya I have an unopened Vipraspectra 300 that I am going to some day sell on EBay. I bought it before I got more knowledgeable about lighting. Not saying it's a bad light, cause I've seen some people do pretty good with it, but I just don't like the blurple's color. White leds make it much nicer to see the actual colors.

I am actually strongly considering the TS1000 too or may just get a QB kit. I am a little concerned with the heat from the TS1000 but I saw you can move the driver to the outside of the tent and with decent air flow I think it would be fine. If I end up going with the TS1000 I will definitely let you know.
Love my TS1000 :) It doesn't burn hot at all - the hood is just warm to touch. Plants like the spectrum - but you might want to rethink the 10" max height buy starting higher and gradually lowering them. Don't know what size tent you have, but it's great in my 32" x 32". There's no fan noise, and it's less bulky, allowing it to go higher if necessary. Hope that helps.
