Plant is root bound. And yes I know the pot is not a accurate size for a auto. First time auto grower here lol. Anyway. She’s in day 7 of flower. Every time I water her the water just flows right threw like the plant is not soaking up the water. Visible roots on top which I covered with fresh soil. She looks like she is N deficient but it seems like she’s not taking the water. I took a small steal rod and pushed threw the soil in multiple places and gave her a feeding. Any thoughts on transplanting during this time or just let her go. By the way the purple bud is my fastberry auto and she’s doing great

Just curious what site did you get the "root bound" diagnosis?
Just did some research and the soil was super hard. I slowly watered and she needed to take it better. Really needed a 3 gal or better for the northern lights. She would have been a big girl. But, newbie mistake. From now on 3-5 gal fabric pots. She’s look better all ready

my plants are rootbound in 100gal totes by end of summer, the rootgrass is from plant roots being like a sponge, they need air too. Not sure why but it happens, id ropot and be careful autos are tempermental, microbes help reduce shock, mycorhyzae!
Would you even consider transplanting an auto that just started flowering? I’m new to the auto game and that’s a split discussion if you research it? I only have the 2 now, So would like to keep as much yeld as possible. Advice?

I have with and without mycos, with reduces shock better, no slowup, just full steam ahead, l repot b4 light switch. But not far in and roots are still growing.

Poke some holes into the dirt with a pencil or stick or something then water slow. Or stick a tray underneath her and water from the bottom.

Also @DamienG get yourself a surficant. If you’re in the UK plan magic bio wetter works wonders.
Softens compacted soil like a beast! Also gives a wee nutrient boost and helps microbes.

There is a big difference between an all summer veg getting root bound and an Auto in a tent
Repotting can help fix grower error though

I have used 1l-2gal airpots for a while. The water goes everywhere but into the soil.
You start with a splash of water, then you give them the "real" watering about 5 mins later. Using a spray bottle helps too.
You can also "reverse water" by dunking the whole pot into clean feed water for 10-20 seconds. I feel reverse watering helps keep soil from becoming compacted or something.

With cloth pots you can drop into another larger pot no need to disrupt the roots at all, will grow right through pots. Best way ever, got one planted that way now, except has 5ltr bucket net innit too. Doing very well. Fit 10g perfectly. Went from hydro to soil to hydro and back to soil, never skipped a beat. Suprising what they can take.
That’s exactly what I did. Poked some holes in dirt with a skewer and put a container under her and watered slowly. Caught all the run off and watered again. Did that until the pot felt like a watered plant should

Looks to me like your plants pulling nitrogen from the bottom leaves to use in it's 2 week stretch phase that happens the first 2 weeks of flower. After those 2 weeks you can cut all your nitrogen off and just focus on Potassium and Phosphorus and any macro notes it may be needing as well. Hope this helps.
