Just saying if it were mine > I'd let them swell more than those pictures regardless of trichome's.
Hairs were still white on tips and the red ones were still not receding

I've tried it every way possible including 50% amber and I'll NEVER harvest again past 15%-20% amber.
I will however ALWAYS let all the hairs turn red and recede into the calyx and let the calyx swell like they are going to burst.

I agree with you on the amber(less is better) and if your happy with the smoke> your golden.

Does it have the old school NL Flavor/potency?

maybe 5 days...still though they just don't look fully swole quite yet
Looks like good smoke either way. I wanna know if it has the Old School type flavor/potency!

I've never got these calyx to really swell up like some others will. It's tight clusters of little calyx that don't change much in size from late week 7 as far as week 10.

I usually take them at 63 days, but I take them when I have time.. this round it was 59 days.

when you get a toke off it uncured let us in on it...
It's got that piney smell, a little bit in the flavor. Sort of a potpouri finish.
Her siblings carried a more pungent taste and intense flavor.. I selected this plant for yield.
She will be replaced soon, as well as a few others, to make room for 2 killing fields selections and possibly one g13 selection.

My pistil colors are all over the place with harvest times... I just go by trich colors with a 100x... 80% cloudy, 18% clear, 2% amber.. something near that, that is convenient. Trichs continue to cloudy/amber up after you cut... when I wait longer and take a look after the dry... most trichs are amber... degraded. I know this opinion puts me in the minority, but it's how I do it.

I'll do a smoke report, for sure.

I know what you mean. My green crack plant does that,,, but well before calyx fully recede. They turn a nice orange and do not fully recede until nearly 10 weeks, way later than I like to take them.

that is late new growth... The closer the growth is to the bulb the more of that you get... Quite a few popular plants often will do this... NL, the white strains, aurora indica, others... My haze plants do the same thing... Especially the 14 wk SSH. Those burst of new pistils never end.

Pistils just don't play a part in my harvest times. I had a c99 plant I ran that harvested just right with over 50% white pistils. Most of mine are between 80% and 100% though, at harvest.. Deep Chunk pistils would fully recede in 8 weeks.. I took it that far usually.
But yeah... I harvest a little earlier than most people do. I like it a week earlier than most. I like to smoke more, get higher, not crash. It could be in my head... but cloudy>clear trichs, no amber,.. get's me what I want.

Your NL sounds a lot like mine. Looks pretty similar too. Very relaxing indeed. I agree, doesn't branch a whole lot naturally. I didn't top mine, but I could imagine them responding quite well. Would also do well in a SOG I think. It's a pretty well rounded strain IMO.

Peak has fire.

Nice work dude, dank looking NL you got there :) let us know how it smokes and if it has that old school NL smell/feel to it :D
It does have the old school NL feel and smell. At least in my humble opinion, although honestly I haven't seen commercial NL in years.

Again sounds just like mine. Very little change in the final weeks.

Well, this concludes the NL grow journal... here a few pics.. Thanks for checking it out. This round was taken down at just 8 wks... I've gone longer. Really, optimal prbly would have been about 8.5 weeks.

They yielded well... 12 oz per 600hps... 3 oz per plant... not bad for such little effort. These ladies were not at all baby'd. Coco drain to waste treated like soil... easy.

Check out Peakseedsbc... Do not forget the bc... peakseeds.com is a scam... peakseedsbc daht kahm is very legit.,

Feel free to post pics, insults, poetry, etc..
