This is a heartbreaker for me. I would teach my son to respect elders and not punch people (read, creepy ass crackers) following them. Bottom line though, if it were my son, I'd want an eye for an eye. i would be emotional and basing my actions off of those emotions. Logic wouldn't enter into it.

I only mentioned the punching because that's what his friend who was on the phone with him said. I thought we were talking about Trayvon. But if it's just"your son" and we don't have any facts, then I'm outraged. I'm outraged even if it comes out that my son was breaking into a house while zim shot him. I'm outraged if my son was killed while raping his wife. My son being killed would elicit nothing but emotion, logic would take a back seat.

punching is not a fact..only this statement is and of course the assailant has the two abrasions and bloody nose..worth your child's life? What type of behavior from a teen constitutes death?

GZ is guilty of culpable negligent manslaughter of a minor under the age of 18. As an adult over the age of 21, he had a responsibility as a concealed carrying gun owner, neighborhood watch captain to identify himself as such.

if someone followed me like zimm followed martin, ya know, in the dark in my own neighborhood while i was doing nothing wrong, both by car, then on foot after i ran, while never identifying themselves, i would fear for my life and i'm sure martin did too if he had any self preservation instincts.

Agree completely with this. Zim was the adult and a minor died essentially because of poor choices made. Negligent homicide seems logical to me. I wonder why the prosecution didn't take this angle?

Ok, that's what I thought I said. I would be very emotional and would want blood. I don't blame Trayvon's parents at all for how they feel. In fact, I think they've conducted themselves with way more class and reserve than I would.
