Novice aussie pumpkin grower:advice? (pics)

the flowers only last a day or so and then die if they have been pollinated then the pumpkin will grow but if it didnt the little pumpkin will just die off

Yeh but this flower (the one in the pick) didnt even fully develop,it stayed the same size as in the pic, went light orange then progressively brown and didnt even open,im sure therell be plenty more though ay?

Nah this one,it was hidden wit the other pics, discovered a new one bout a metre further up,hopefully it develops.

Pumpkin flowers only last a day or 2. I've known people who fry them and eat them, (not me, I thought it was strange). If you look closely at the base of the female flower, you should see the tiny little immature pumpkin.

it is the way it is with pumpkins, go out and pull of a male flower strip the outer flower of it leaving the stamen,
find a female flower and lightly rub the male stamen into the centre of the female flower
they have now had sex ,the flower will die and the little pumpkin should then start to grow.

Punkin porn, get pics.........

strip the male flowers so they look like the one in the photo and insert into female flower(sorry i cant pull a female off to show you but i think you know what the female looks like..:-) ) and thats it

i have put up some photos of the pumpkins i am growing and one of the pumpkin patch

I grow Alantic Giant Pumpkins myself, but I am growing for size. My first attempt last year I grew a 460 lber.

"Pumpkin plants need to be about 2 months old before they can start setting fruit. It has been my experience that they are ~10 feet long when they get their first pumpkins."

Thanks for input ppls,my internets been down for a while so havent been able to reply. My probs have been solved and 3 of the 4 plants have set fruit and been pollinated successfully about 3 days ago and are growin by the day,its gettin exciting now!

Also are the blocks of wood a good idea?

1. Are the pieces of wood a good idea?
2. Is it possible at this stage for anyone to hint at the varieties?
3. How long generally from fruit set to harvest??
cheers.
