NRA and the Republicans that support it doomed?

A whopping card carrying, gun totlng 74% of NRA members think so too..just spoke to one this morning and suggested 'smart' gun owner only access..the answer: yes!
You're right. I'm not an NRA member but like the majority, I support universal background checks. And like that majority, that's all I support.

So, we'll be adding background checks to private sales and gun show sales...that's it. If that's the bone that has to be thrown to get liberal chuckleheads to focus on actual solutions, I'm on board.

Surprise me and tell me what EU country, just 1, that has a higher MASS murder rate than the US? France? Sweden? Please don't even think of going there, because I will have to put a check mark by your name in my book.
You do know what per capita means? Right. Per capita, the USA is like around 100th on the list. If you take the mass murders murders per 100,000 or 1,000,000 we are not the leader.

No one can buy a new gun at a gun show without going through the FBI background check. The idea that new guns can be bought and sold without those checks is nothing more than pure ignorance.

out of the 33,000 people killed by guns, 21,000 were SUICIDES!!!
Gun Suicides are usually very successful.
Don't confuse gun deaths as = murder when the great majority isn't.
How many were killed by police officers? How many were defensive use of guns? How many were accidental?
When you get down to it, murder by firearm is a minor statistic considering car crashes account for far more deaths. You have a much greater chance of being struck by lightning than of ever encountering a gun wielding maniac on a mass killing spree. The second amendment is absolute, just as the first is.

Would you think it unconstitutional to put a muzzle on everyone who enters a theater to ensure none of them can yell fire?
Doesn't matter it's pitchforks and torches:

You'll have antiques grandfathered in and receive a credit to turn in your existing arsenal for 'smart' ..anyone caught otherwise will go to jail mandatory or better..heavy fine $$$.

How about used, 2nd hand weapons. People go to shows because of the bargains on used firearms, not to buy new guns. That's my experience.

There will be 'safe haven' locked drop boxes for those in your collection with questionable serial numbers..no questions asked.

So, we go back to HOW MANY died in those countries (except Sweden, I'll give you that one), and then add deaths cause by firearms, in general. If you want to argue that this country has no firearm problem in comparison to the rest of the world, go right ahead. But as Doer (RIP) would have claimed, it's all sophistry (bullshit).

Would you look at that. We are actually a safe country when you you at the per capita murder rate.

That's not how law works. You can't criminalize legal activity and then arrest people who weren't breaking prior to the law change. I think the most the law enforcement could do is confiscate the new contraband, but that's not going to sit well with Americans.

You going to respond? Seriously. You say we have a problem but we are very low on the list for per capita homicides. Closer to 100th on the list.

I say your claims are bullshit.

Well fuck me, if John Fugelsang doesn't approve of the NRA, who the heck are we to disagree? I mean shit, it's John Fugelsang for Pete's sake. I bet as we speak, the NRA is saying "Close up shop boys, Fugelsang has got our number".

Fugelsang...lolz.

Is Fugelsang part of the press? I have no clue what he does or is currently. I saw he was a second rate actor in a few shit TV shows, beyond that I wouldn't know.
The larger point is about shooting the messenger. His message is on point.

Why do you support background checks?
Do you hate the 2nd amendment?

Anything I support must pass the common sense litmus test. Universal background checks pass with flying colors.

I honestly can't think of anything/anyone I actually hate on this earth. I dislike certain things/people, but I tend to pity where some might hate.

That chart that everyone is referencing is a very interesting way to skew statistics. Norway has a population of 5.084 million whereas the United States has a population of 318.9 million meaning our population is 62 times the size of Norway's; Macedonia has a population of 2.107 million meaning our population is 151 times the size of Macedonia. Moreover there has been 1 mass shooting in Macedonia since 2009, which was actually an act of terrorism and not perpetrated by a single person with multiple guns, but people. Norway has had 1 mass shooting, which was also an act of terrorism the 2011 Oslo and Utoya shootings which were done by the same person.
