doesnt reeferman carry alot of the original thai genetics in his stuff.no your right not all thai was dipped in opium,but i believe the batch i mentioned was because it was something else,now haveing to take opium for pain i can rember the mixture,i just never believed the guys when they said back then it was loaded with opium,but their was no information highway up north,im just getting the news now, 25 years later lol.

im not sure many profess to have landraces but you know it is theyll say anything.I know dj uses two 100% landrace thai sativas .and a 100 %landracr afghanistan indica .in his mixes.And yes ive also had the opium dipped thai weed but not since like 89

I have grown both, rezdog's sour diesel , and Soma's NYCD......they are completely different...but both are great.....any one who says Soma's is not good, had a bad pheno or something, mine turned out great, had a grape fruity, but acctually more lemony flavor along with that classic diesel flavor....shit stinks to high heaven, fruity smelly and delicious.....very potent and a decent yielder...but may be I got that bomb pheno

i am noticeing things of this nature.Ive got 2 phenos one much taller and produces much better.And one squater that dont produce as much but is alot stronger in terms of that grapefruity/lemony dankness.The biggest one smells kinda nutty i have a bigger one that smells grapefruity but much fainter than the smaller one .and ive got a more squat one that smells kinda like grape juice.they will all be ready in the next 10-21 days and then ive got three that are of the squat variety to early in flower to tell.

I'd love to see some photos of yours.....the pheno that smelled the most citus, was the best in my opinion, it almost tasted just like lemon d after it was all cured up, a couple heads even asked me if it was lemon d after they hit it the first time.....shit was dank....
..it also had smaller buds than the other phenos but they where rock hard and also darker green.....

ya you never know,basically they all started with the same genetics more or less,and they just shuffle the deck every few years and give it another name,im not sure their is any pure landraces,they have all been touched by differant pollen one way or another,ive been growing differant seeds like crazy,im now at 17 strains counting helping someone else,and you find after awhile you can find likeness in one pheno just like another in a differant strain of seeds,not always but alot,but i dont do alot of sativa dominant because its not what i need,but the last time i had thia and opium was 77,along time ago.

i hear ya. thats cause everything theses days are all mis mashed together thats why i believe that while overall the quality of weed is better then in the 70's and 80's the standard for what qualifies as top of the line weed has droped quite a bit since then.

ya i still say the best weed i ever smoked was from west central africa,a family member worked for cuso in the late 60,s and early 70,s and sent it back,a pin joint left you soaring for 3 hours it didnt level out untill after an hour,it was incredible,mind you the plants it came from were 20 feet high,kind of hard to grow in your attic with out removeing your floor.

all i can say is ouch on this strain.I wanted so bad for it to be dank. but it dries out and looks like commerical it has really no taste except some pieces have a faint grapefruit taste.I got a good yeild but who cares.Its also pretty stoney but again who cares? It smells tastes and smokes like mexican commerical pot.Looks like soma has joined the ranks of the money grubbing theives.Put out crap with fancy names and high prices.What a load of bullshit this nycd is.i could have grown bag seeds if i wanted this shit.200 freaking bucks down the drain my friends would laugh if i tried to give them this , thanks for nothing soma.Its funny too cause the early pieces i had were great but as it matures it loses the grapefruit taste and replaces it with a comerical taste. unforgivable,
