Raised the sides today & lit 3 of the 4 outside blades. Can't reach the back right one. The 2 big outside blades consist of 4, 2'x4' blades that slide on & off of the top housing rail & can be turned on as an option to continue the system or grow in conjunction w/ existing fixtures. Lights up the PW walls pretty well & am considering running them like you suggested Zep-L. image.jpg image.jpg
The GG's shot up & will have the whole light filled soon. Getting wind-burn on the front here from the oscillating fan. I'll be getting it up higher soon. It's so full I also have a 20" box-fan underneath that helps keep the air circulating better. It's real thick in there. Budlings are starting to show today.
Gotta say, I'm surprised at how easy this is so far. Knock on wood! It's a whole nuther story when the weight starts setting in, lol!

Nice set-up! Good job, that takes some dedication. Really get the most outta them bulbs that way hu? I like it. Do you feel you Yeild more like that or scrogging? Always wanted to try. I have to much going on though, totally slacked on my existing flower. They're all toppling over. Not a bad thing though, just real heavy in there with only one trellis.whats GSC strain?

girl scout cookies.this crop was about 10 oz average for the 3 gg4 and the girl scout was about 8 oz.i never did a scrog under hps.i had done a few led scrogs back when they were overhyped and inefficient 1 to 3 watt burple lights.i wasted alot of money back then on them and then used them very well for veg only.i would then flower vertically around 1 or 2 600 hps stacked.

They grew into the top rail again, ha! Raised em up today again. Damn, for the past 3 days it feels like they stretch 2-3" a day. Put up an oscillating fan on the wall to relieve the burn. Also duct in the AC to blow over the plants on both sides of the room. The Dehumidifire has an automatic pump that pumps the water out so I ran it through the wall to the kitchen sink too. Also have a tower fan added under the canopy as the box fan was burning them too. Finally almost done building for this run. I'll have to finish after these OCGG's are done. Oh, managed to turn the back right outside blade on. It's really not that bad. Only 4' away. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Never grew GG#4 so I can't say how floppy or stretchy they usually are... but those don't look very sturdy, hopefully the lights work better for flower. Thus far they seem like the most unpractical grow lights ever.

if they are stretching more then you want ,start cleaning out all the big leaves.i heavily trimmed the horizontal scrog under my leds to control stretch.defoliating leaves and trimming the first three shoots off of the stalks.

I have 5 almost done in flower now. That was my first GG run & this is my second. After setting the wall to wall trellis & bending the big GG's under it, I then realized I forgot to raise my 1000 hoods in the middle of the room. The GG's shot right to em. Tied the tallest ones to the trellis from undernieth but they still made it to 1-3" away from the glass in places. One thing I noticed about the GG is their ok with the heat. Never showed much sighns of heat stress or anything. So, from what I gather is they are big stretchers & get a it floppy. But boy they look dank. Here's a few pics. Don't really have many good shots of the GG cuz of the trellis & those 5 are towards the back. And I don't usually do this but here's the room. Most of its laying on the trellis now from the weight! Someday I'll put in that second trellis! View attachment 3629795View attachment 3629796 View attachment 3629798There's a good few pounds under the Scrog too as I'm a big fan of side-lighting & as much illumination as possible. Here I have most side-light on the OBB because it Yeilds big down low. There's one Sensi-Star in there too! A few weeks ago it was all standing tall, now they have Floppyidous, lol!
Hers a pick from a week or two ago of some tall GG. & lights on. Some room pics too. Figured you guys might like to see my current run! View attachment 3629806View attachment 3629808

you said earlier that you are running around 1200 watts per 4x4?how many plants per 4x4?average weight per plant?how do you get to the plants on the far side of the screen?i have never run hps scrogs horizontal, only vert.my cabinets work pretty good except for getting to the back wall plant and the back two corners.

Well, that's my first GG run so I'm not sure what they'll put out but my usual average was 1.5-2, last time was 2.5lbs. after adding side-lighting & dialing my strains. The Sensi-Star & OBB gave me 4.5 lbs each with 4 plants each row & the Tangi gave me 12-14. Just about everything went up a quap after adding side lighting & making a few adjustments. That's one of the main reasons I bought this SC. I now see what how much more potential my plants had by utilizing the whole plant. It's a lil tough when the talk branches shoot for the light at the trellis line but nothing a few dozen plant-ties couldn't solve. About 2.5 plants usually fit under the 4'x4'. It's a 8'-9'x11'-12' solid canopy style grow. 12 plants. The trellis is set @ 3' 7" so I crawl for a living! Ha!
I never imagined putting 6 monsters in that space. But had them readily begging to be flowered & totally O.C., so I bought this system & figured I'd push its limits the first use to see if I'll be using more of them in the future. It's allot easier for me so far. The vertical trellis holds everything up so far, & it's really quite simple in comparison to my usual grow style.
I'm amazed @ how much it grows these plants. I mean when I fired her up I thought this is bright but really thought I'd have to much plant. Seems good though. We'll see. Still have another week n a half of stretch. Prob. will defoliate a lil around week 4.5.
I never tried removing shoots. Themz my buds? Usually do some big fan leaves around week 5 if I have time but aside from that usually minimal Popping & pick dying or dead leaves for air, cleanliness & light.

HPS Trim week so I won't be able to up-date as much but I'll stay tuned if anyone has questions n stuff.
Letting the shorter sites catch-up a lil before raising the blades. Some have reached pass the top bar. Just don't have time to bend em down right now.
There's no part of this canopy not receiving light. We have buddage & many sites. The trellis is holding them up just fine.
Peace n Happy Growing!image.jpg

Bent a few over. One broke but is in tacked, it'll just be super-cropped. Should be fine! image.jpgGoing good.

What if I said to you:
Don't bend them bro! You're better off lollipopping the bottoms and raising the lights. Have you thought about what's going to happen when individual buds begin blocking and touching the LEDs? If it's too dense even less light is going to get through. IDK maybe the stretch is going to be your blessing? I would think about growing with a Critical Mass mentality and go for just a few big areas of growth and hack the rest. You got a lot of plant there man and that light is gonna get dimmer and dimmer. Again, I'm not just being negative, it's fascinating this grow, but I just can't help thinking this is gonna be less than optimal. It's my North-east pragmatism.

@captainmorgan, Got an opinion C?
