Odd question

I germed 2 seeds which both come through but one of them had a root that looked rotten, short root, it looked like it wasn't going to survive so I let it be and started to germ 2 more seeds just incase, I then check my 2 that had already sprouted the next day and they both seem to be growing.
Problem is now I don't have space for 4 plants...
Is it possible for me to just store the 2 seeds that I had in a wet paper towel or will they continue to sprout??
Keep in mind they were only in a paper towel for 8 hours so they haven't germinated yet.

What if I stopped it though, will the just die and won't sprout again or just continue without water? Guess if they die I've lost 2 seeds.
I can't grow 4 so had to just put them back into their packets.
