How does he do it? I don't think it is in the board he uses.

Ok, try this video link. His head is not in the frame so expect that.

It makes my head hurt trying to figure it out, and it is always something really simple in the end.

Still getting half a screen but watched it thru this time and I can kinda see what's happening.

Got no clue either lol, half screen still makes it 2x as hard lol.

I can't comprehend this at all. I fail to see how a 7x9 can still be a 7x9 after removing 3 squares.

david copperfield was shagging claudia schiffer ,,,, now thats fuckin impressive from a magician

Thanks Winter woman...feeling kinda dumb now!

Still early in my day,I'll have to take another look after "happy hour:bigjoint:". Might have a lil brighter perspective on things....

A hell of an optical illusion. I don't think the tiles are the same size. Notice that toward the end, the tiles don't fit as snug in the box as they did at the beginning.

Its an optical illusion

That the slopes cause, This is a simplified sketch of the most important pieces.

Basically you would have to remove 3.5 pieces to see 1 row of squares disappear.

Each square is getting smaller in the back but it still looks like a square because of depth perception
if it was a flat view like looking on a piece of paper you would notice it.

That is what is happening. The angled cuts are shrinking the square size just short of noticeable. Very nice trick though.

Edit: Guess I should have refreshed after watching. Ryan beat me to it. :eyesmoke:

Just watched it again and you can see the flush lines look messed up on the closer rows

noticed i missed a row in my sketch too , so may be its closer to 3 :dunce:

Pretty much nails it.

There are no single pieces as he takes it apart, his right hand is cupped as if he is holding something in his last three digits as he takes it apart, Just a slight-of-hand trick,

That could be too, the screen dose flash everyone in a while , because the illusion still wont account for the same high in the tray
