I am starting week 9 of flower. I have ac infinity charcoal filter and exzaust. Im not so worried about the smell in the tent, but more concerned about the smell on the other end of my ducting after it passes through the filter. Does a charcoal filter get rid of all of the smell? Thanks.

It makes it to where it’s controllable throughout the house I mean I could still kind of smell it even with my charcoal filter but if you were standing in my kitchen and had just walked in my house you wouldn’t smell it but yes if you get a good charcoal filter and rotate them out as specified then you’ll be good to go Plus you can always put some filter material on the end of your exhaust and use a dryer sheet on the other side of it that will make the air coming out smell good and fresh and not like Mary J
I do not really have that option since the end of the exhaust is not very accessible. This is the first grow using this 6" ac infinity exhaust and filter, and I only started using it in week 2 of flower till now, so its about 7 weeks in use from new. I am not so concerned about the smell when I open the tent, I am more concerned about any smell coming out of the end of the exit ducting after it passes through the filter.

You’ll be fine if you’re using a charcoal filter you’re good you shouldn’t have to worry about the smell at all

I've had to tape my hoods, go back and tape all junctions to hoses and filters, and at times add a second charcoal filter, just to deal with smell when the heat of summer comes.
Some strains seem able to go right through the charcoal,
I have even used an empty room as a dump for smelly air, to give me a second chance to condition the air.
This very problem is why we have strains that take work to get good smelly phenos from. The OGs did their best to breed the smelliness out.

That's where I ended up.
Deal with the air coming through the hood separately.
Then you can concentrate upon the air IN the room...
Keeps filters from being overwhelmed, The moisture from the room's interior affects the effectiveness of the charcoal, so keep capacity down if you can.
I am running a led in a 3x3 with a 6" ac infinity setup so I am just exhausting through the filter in the tent, through the exhaust and out of the ducting.

I am trying to contain single units of 4 - 6 ft plants.
I can do that with one 6" fan and filter except during summer.

Ok so exhausting outside limits any smell leaks & controls heat/humidity. Sweet, im gonna do that, my exhaust window plate will be here this week...
Now whats the best solution IYO for when you have to open the tent... to keep that "hood open" rush of flowering skunk smell contained to the room its in & not spread to rest of home?

If you do stress, set up a scrubber in the room the tent is in, or some Ona (there a mixed opinions on this one as some state the Ona will bind to the terpenes in the plant and neutralize them). i use a cheap 6" fan and filter near the tent. They don't need to be as high a quality as the one in the tent. I'm hiding smoking and growing in uni accom, and have no issues. the filter by itself was letting a tiny bit of musk through and the scrubber sorted that out quick smart.

It just cleans anything that leaks from the tent. Did me wonders...the smell wasn't overtly bad beforehand, just a subtle Musk in the room but this sorted it out.

Cool so you just have another seperate small inline fan, with a small carbon filter sitting in the room constantly sucking in/cleaning air. So basically you run 2 inlines & 2 carbon filters total

Make sure the fan in always exhausting, not just firing up at a certain temperature and stopping again, but always running above idle.
As said above, I’ve found you can also add another fan and filter without ducking to just scrub the air before it’s exhausted.
There are some strains that are just filter busters though and seem to permeate through brick! not much can be done haha.
