Ona Gel experiences Ive got questions?

I am curious if I could place ona gel on top of my grow tent where all the air is exhausting to. Will it effect the taste of my bud with it not actually being in the tent? The reason I need ona gel is because when my lights turn off my fans also turn off. I keep my fans off during the day for stealth purposes and unexpected visitors so there is no way I can constantly have air exhausting through the filter. My grow tent is in a closet roughly the same size as the tent with only 4-5" of space on each side, there is a Curtin that is on the closet and during the day I keep it closed so the ona gel would be closed in with the tent and the plants. If that wont work could I just sit the ona gel on top of my gun case that is directly beside the closet. One more Idea is to remove the ona gel from the container and spread all the way around the outside of the doorway to the closet.

I drew up a quick example of how my grow tent is setup.

I vote to keep it out of your tent... That stuff has a strong aroma. It would probably contaminate your buds. Set it on a nightstand.

If I do sit it nearby will it atleast keep the smell in my bedroom and not let it get to the rest of the house, tbh I don't care if my room smells just need to keep it contained to my room.

It is VERY strong. Put a little bit in a separate container to use a little at a time or it may be too much. Even done this way, it fills my home in a matter of minutes. When I use it, I set a small container of it directly in front of my fan on top of my tent.

I prefer ozone gen. at my exhaust. comes on every 2 hours.. ..just in case.

And yeah, don't put it in the tent or where you may be drying any bud.

As has been stated, don't put it in the tent. That being said, Ona is more of a backup than a primary means of controlling odor, It is good next to your front door, at the top of your basement stairs, and next to your back door. It works more like an air freshener than a cleaner. You really need to have a carbon filter to keep things under control. Five Ona gels wont cover up a Skunk #1 in week 8 of flower.

Thanks guys for the responses, I have a carbon filter just on lights off the fans are off and the air isn't being exhausted through the filter, it is just sitting still in the tent. I can't have my fans running during the day because of unexpected visitors to my house and I'm not paranoid just cautious.

Get yourself a cycle timer and turn your fan speed down low.

Cycle timers come in all shapes and sizes. I have one that is more elaborate than what is need, but that is just how I am. Basically it turns things on and off based on the amount of time you choose. Example: on for 10 mins and off for 40mins. It will just do that all day long.

Thanks man but that is way out of my price range that looks more like a commercial timer than something I should be using.

Great Idea though if they have cheaper and smaller versions made for just one thing and my one thing is my fan exhausting the filter.

I wouldn't use the ona stuff, whatever it is it is not healthy. If you let that shit ooze out it will melt shit!

I realize that. You can get one that is just a cycle timer for less than $100.

The Sentinel stuff is just sweet. IMO

I might just get 2 containers of ona gel and put each in a glass bowl so if it did get out it would be in the bowl at least and sit 1 by my bedroom door and 1 by my window so that all exits are covered.

idk, but ime, ona gel is no where near as good as having a carbon filter /fan combo.. maybe one plant ona might work, but it's no where near as effective as a good scrubber, ie, carbon filter.. can't cheap out when it comes to smell..

I am tellin you brother that shit is no good for you to breathe in, you can make a charcoal filter for cheaper. Charcoal filter is healthy and keeps the air clean without whatever is in the ona. I am only warning you because I used this stuff before and my wife was getting sick and so I got rid of it.

Just go to the grocery store and buy some of those oil plug-ins and use them instead. It will do the same thing. The gel dries up fast.

Thanks man I am rethinking this now, I have a filter but like I explained my fan exhausting the filter goes off with the lights and I can run my fans during the for privacy reasons so I don't know what to do.
