Thanks man I am rethinking this now, I have a filter but like I explained my fan exhausting the filter goes off with the lights and I can run my fans during the for privacy reasons so I don't know what to do.
check out the sound control thread, ie, shh, the neighbors are listening thread, for some good ideas on how to isolate the sound from a inline fan so you can run the fan 24/7 without having to worry about noises..

Just go to the grocery store and buy some of those oil plug-ins and use them instead. It will do the same thing. The gel dries up fast.
I am not sure what you are talking about the things that you plug into the wall that are scented? I have the little glass candle warmer that melts down the wax and releases the smell.

I think he is talking like glade plugins or febreeze plug ins those things don't work to cover up pot smell. They only mask it but you can still tell that some dank is growing.

I built a diy fan muffler but its not the vibrations from the fan that create the noise it is the sound of the air movement, it sounds like a small jet engine on full power but with the muffler I made it sounds more like a bathroom exhaust fan now but it is still too loud to be discreet.

you should be able to get a fan speed controller which will also greatly help with the sound of the fans.. in combo with a duct muffler and speed controller, i'd say it cut a good 75% of the sound coming from the fan originally..

Arthur, those are exactly what I mean. They wont work alone, but with a carbon filter in the tent, they do a great job. A cycle timer for the fan/filter combo and some plug-ins. Done.

what if I put a small cpu fan in between the 6" fan and the carbon filter and put it on a timer to run when the big fan is off, or would the big fan over spin the cpu fan and burn it up? Just a thought.

It wont be able to pull enough air through the filter. It does still have resistance. You could try a booster fan, but I doubt it will make a difference.

That would definitely be the correct way to fix my problem but I have invest over $1000 into all this and I am no longer financially able to drop over $100 on something so I am looking for a cheaper alternative.
