One seed two sprouts

I like the story so far. Don't worry about the plants hogging lights. The leaves have the ability to pass light through each other so they all receive some. Just a little benefit from mother nature.

Another thing u could always do is cut the smaller one off and clone it that way there root ball wouldnt get so big in those cups

Yeah I was thinkin that too, maybe wait till it gets bigger and then cut it off and try to clone it.

I think I'm going to try a scrog with a rectangle pot and a load of soil. If it don't work oh well I still have 8 master kush seeds left. Plus 5 Super Lemon Haze can't wait to bust these out!!!

There was a thread on here about plants having senses i read, and it interested me so i verified the scientific data discussed in that thread, with legitimate scientific sources and its mostly true according to SCIENCE, not people here though..*****they dont care if something can be proven..the one guy with 900 posts said its true, he probably knows more than those scientists anyways right...(psh).*****

EDIT: This isnt aimed at anyone specifically, rather at peoples tendencies to take post count as a measure of intelligence. I used to have a much higher post and karma count, but my account was lost in migration.

A lot of the people giving advice here are just guessing. If you want to buy that article do so, otherwise heres the short version:

Plants can sense other plants. Leaves sense other plants by absorbing red light, and reflecting infra-red, the plants know that if there is more IR than RED there must be a plant absorbing light in that direction. This allows leaves to angle themselves just perfect for maximum light absorption.

Plants can also sense chemicals released by plants..for instance one plant getting eaten by bugs will release stress chemicals. The plant next to it senses this, and releases them also...pretty soon all plants are releasing bitter chemicals to make bugs think they aren't tasty.

Roots can sense other roots also. If you read the free "abstract" portion of the linked article you will see this outlined.

Now just like in animals, theres a few types of relationship.

Symbiotic and parasitic.

Fungus "roots" will tangle with your plants roots and share nutrients..the fungus will take a lot of the junk the plant doesnt want, and release stuff the plant does want. This is symbiotic, both the plant and the fungus are only benefiting from the relationship.

Some voracious species of plant will strangle out roots of other plants. Just like in the animal world, some species share local resources, some fight for it...the question is...which of these is marijuana. And even then, it wont HARM your plant...as the article explains:

If the plants are going to "fight" for root zone they will put incredible amounts of energy into growing roots faster than the other plant. This is where people assume the plants are dying..they may yellow a bit, droop and not seem to grow much...they are just trying t establish roots, then they will kick some above ground ass. Remember ph of 6 is best for root development.

If they are going to grow away from each other you are in luck as well...it will just be like having 2 plants in the space of one...heres the problem...In nature they would keep growing away from each other. In your pot they will hit the side, and follow it around to...the other plants side! - If you want to have 2 root systems in one pot you need to know when to transplant.

Other plants have the ability to sense roots in a direction, and grow away from them..therefore having its own root area.

There's also the cool art of multirooting. You simply bend a lower branch end of your plant and bury it underground..roots will grow from the underground bit and bam you have another root ball...like a clone but instead of having its own roots for its own plant, it adds a second set of roots to the same plant.

(lol i think of this as "bottoming". Instead of creating 2 tops, we are creating 2 bottoms!)

prot

PS: as others mentioned..unless you had 2 taproots, this is one plant with one set of roots...it just had the good fortune of sprouting with extra cotyledons...just like opening your new solar powered car only to find the company accidentally gave you 2x the solar panels lol. (yay).

nice find would breeding it maybe cause seeds 2 all have twins or maybe tripplets? chickens have 2 yokes some times. idky u would want 2 plants per hole but its cool any way i would image they will be the same pheno cuze they came from the same seed good luck

Happy 420 RIU! Today I woke up to a yellow tip on the bigger one (big sis) I haven't used any nutes and my water has a ph of 6.4 to 6.8 I used organic soil with Sphagnum Moss for drainage. I've been waiting for the soil to get dry before watering and just guessing at how much to use. I'm using one 70 watt hps about 12 inches away and two 23 watt compact fluorescents about 8 inches away. Can anyone tell from the pic what I should do? Lights on 82 lights off 71.

Good news found a hydro shop in my city this place carries all kinds of things like fox farms ocean forrest so I got some. Now I need to figure out the best time to transplant especially with my tricky situation with the twins.

I'm extremely interested in this thread!! I'd like to kick myself in the ass for not letting mine grow... with my seeds I could see that they were coming from the same taproot. Meaning they WERE one plant. I had a thread posted about this and majority told me one wouldn't survive. I even explained that it seemed as if both sprouts were coming from the same root and no one gave me sound advice.
It's good to see people encouraging you to grow it out. I'd love to see it work out for you. But you said you had some yellowing already??? You may have a challenge for yourself my friend. But i agree with the rectangular pot. I'd go as deep and long as possible if i were you.
I noticed with my twins one just started to go down hill while the other just took over. Once i saw it showing the slightest bit of stress i cut the smaller seedling. But i should've grown it out!!! damnit! You don't see many threads of people trying it. I wish i would've so we could have some data on how it went.
shit.
I'm rooting ( no pun intended) for ya brotha!! rep for getting wild genetics and growing them out!

This is pretty wild man. I definitely want to stick around to see what happens. Are you going to lst the bigger one so it doesn't block out the light or anything? That cabinet is pretty tight to...

Are they doing ok now?? I see it's been 6 days since yellowing, any major changes? I agree with above poster, very very interesting

Like your scrog cab!! It looks great but it almost looks like there's too much distance between the bulbs and the screen. Seems like it should be closer but idk if it would burn your plants, don't have too much experience with hps.

Either way I'm subscribed, eager to look on this grow :) good luck!!

Hey thanks for the support the yellowing was because the heat with the hps it gets to 95 so I have put cfls in until I get the heat figured out. The twins are recovering from the burn only two burnt tips. The rest of the leaves are curled up a little but its getting way better I'll post some pics soon. Hey my buddy said to flower early in order to keep a smaller root ball watcha think. I don't really expect to get max yield from my first grow anyway.

Hey thanks for the interest, The bigger one is going in a different cab as soon as the scrog takes off and it is doing pretty good I think it likes the higher temps which is 82 with the cfls.

Thanks I think its not bad for my first cab. Already thinking about ways to make it better prob just make more and have like three stealth grow all the time. I put cfls in to bring the twins up to the screen and when it's time to flower I'll use the hps and adjust the height as needed. The hps are really hot I have some ideas to get the heat down the best one is a ufo I'm going to check out your thread and learn a little more about led's. I'll have pics soon.

Have you thought about cutting a couple of holes in your cab and using an inline fan to vent all the heat out somewhere? HPS need really good ventilation systems or you run into too much heat/humidity. As for the UFO, I'm not a real big fan of them, but if you're going to use one you might as well use a few, cause 1 UFO won't get the results you desire. Need more power and less heat. Or more power(HPS) and better venting :P Another option you may want to look into is a cooltube. I'm sure there's tons of info on here about them, just gotta do a little digging ;) Beware though, I hear cooltubes reduce luminous output by at much as 10%.

Either way I hope you can get temps figured out, good luck!

Thanks I need all the luck.
I am thinking about making my own cool tube with some 3/16 glass if I leave some space for my passive intake to come through and across the bulbs before getting sucked out my 65 cfm fan. Maybe also get a bigger exhaust fan and use the current exhaust fan for intake watcha think. I also have an eight inch fan for circulation now blowing across the hps bulb. So thats now 1-70 watt hps 2-43 watt cfl's 1-23 watt cfl and 1-18 watt floro all 6500k. It's staying around 81-82 range now I want the other hps to work maybe with the bigger fan idea I can have some more power.
