Oct 22 update

Warm weather is here and here to hoping

I built a shelter with hvac around my plants 3 days ago before the cold blitz I have managed to keep it around 25 degrees during the day with ample ventilation .

Let's see what happens they may not re bound but I have to try !

Only using electric heat

Shelter doesn't look pretty but it's secure and keeping the heat in

We're making progress I have seen significant growth/flowering since the enclosure and heating this is about 4 days difference which is more than I have seen in 2 weeks .

Still anything can happen I get that but crossing my fingers here !

Well it's been a long road but I plan to Chop this Friday/Saturday. I tore down the shelter a few days ago was worries about condensation in the mornings catching up with me .

After checking trichomes looks like they are harvestable (still getting familiar with trichomes/ripeness)

But a few more warm days with lots of sun should help

Lost a few buds here and there to bud rott mainly the ones that were outside eof the gazebo and getting poured rain on constantly .

Will do one final update on fridya/Saturday here's to hoping the big girl on the right is a 5 pounder .

Great work keeping them going this long. Im also in Southern Ont with one plant still going outside (JOTI Timewarp).
Where did you get Blue Afghani? Seed or clone? Seems to do well in our climate.

Thanks! Yeah the heated shelter really helped me out my plants went into a stall for 3 weeks but the heat turned it around and a warm fall obviously.

Clonesuperstore he's ships and is always quality and very nice sized clones

The blue afghani was a clone same as candyland

This foggy damp weather is not good. Covering them prob makes it worse, hope it doesnt last.

Well I started to harvest and the buds look great nice swollen calyx and the trichomes looks good been a long road but we made it !

Little worries about drying these buds I do not have exp with drying larger buds and these are all large buds I am.very impressed

More photos to follow it's taken me 1.5 days just to clip off plant and still going ...

My typical method is clip big fans and hang branches I am running several smaller USB fans just point at the ground not at bud only to move stagnant air as well as running a de humidifier between levels .

That's one plant hanging and going to start the other plant today!

I figure there's about 9 to 11 pounds in total here hard to guess as I am not familiar with larger buds and how they weigh up etc so well see !

Thanks to long term riu members for all the information and help over the 4 years I have learned a ton from this site and members and still learning and I enjoy sharing and keeping journals going !

What a Great heavy yielding strain !

+Blue afghani (sticky fingers)
+Age 8.5 months old
+yield approx 5 +pounds each
+Each plant is 6 ft tall x 6 to 8 ft wide !
+Soil - pro mix hp + earthworm castings
+Advanced hydroponics -grow + bloom+cal mag

+Received clones at about 1ft tall on Feb 28th
+Transfered outside may 24 ish
+Spent 10 days in an enclosed heated sheltereally
+Chopped Nov 4 to 6th

my last little plant I was able to dry it over 8 days I am slowly getting better at drying and not drying to quickly but these I have no idea how long they will take doubble the size of buds I am familiar with .

Once dried I will separate buds from.branches and into 5 gallon food grade turkey bags inside 5 gallon buckets until trimming .

I will be extremely thrilled if the big girl is over 5 pounds but if it's only 5 still very happy with that I have had people guess at 6.5 and 4.5 but we shall see .

Wow beautiful plants and amazing yield. This demonstrates what it takes to grow a plant this big: 10 months. My outdoor runs with photoperiods go 5 - 6 months. Germinate seeds May 1st and harvest late September/October. I easily get 1lb plants. This year I ran a sativa dominate strain photo in the above time frame an she yielded 19oz (larf an colas). Indicas yield about the same for me too (maybe a bit less because they tend to stay smaller). I have run a sativa outdoors that I started in February and gotten much more yield, but I’m in a prohibition state an when I grow outside I like to make it as short as possible.

I leave the fan leafs on, I like a real slow dry..on big plants like that after 10 or 11 days I trim off some leafs and and stems and put em on screens to dry for a few more days.

Yeah eh I will have to try that ...well I have the plants harvested .. there's a ton of small sized buds left on the plants like alot but hoping to give that away .

I am aiming for about 12 days with my humidity and temp my test plant took 8 days and these are much bigger buds to hoping for 12 days but we'll.see

I chopped down one slow maturing Sativa strain that was grown from bag seed.
Everything was good until a few days ago when PM hit.
I sprayed with hydrogen peroxide but missed a few spots

I bet your house smells wonderful!
The final trimming after the hang dry will be a lot of work by hand, maybe look into a mechanical trimmer.
