Opinions and Prefrences: RO, Distilled, or Tap water?

No man it has to do with the fact YOU give at best semi helpful info based mostly off of hearsay and what your mom told you. The fact that you spew info that has no relevant science to it just shows your knowledge base. Hey everyone has to start somewhere but if you are going to give jacked up info be prepared to deal with guys like me that will call you on it. Show your grow man and if called out show your proof as to what you are saying. And yes I have his back Dairy Farmers stick together.

Enough of the Voo Doo magic potions people like you spew out. Sand for killing root aphids? Really? does that require an explanation as to why that is jacked up info?

I appreciate you all stopping in here to help. I'm sure everyone of you has more exp than me this is why im here My first month I was using straight ph 6.5 distilled ( no supplements) And my ladies all started getting very light green and the older leaves had dark freckle spots on them. Someone theorized cal or mag deff and said that I should have been adding a cal-mag supp. So I did start that and also got the RO machine from my mentor/buddy. No now i've been using that and adding cal-mag plus (botanicare)
They got better looking but now even though they look darker green, if I take an older leaf off and hold it to the light so its trasparent you can see all the lil dark freckle spots still
this has been ongoing for like 3 months.... So now i'm here contemplating my water

Ok, i didn't know if it was ok to put the cal mag into a foliar feed..??? I also thought of that but it doesn't say foliar feeding instructions on the bottle so I wasn't sure if it was going to hurt them. There is nothing wrong with distilled, there is nothing wrong with RO, and there is nothing wrong with tap. The only thing I will caution people about is that MOST tapwater is just fine for growing but there are a few exceptions that have really hard water. You can certainly grow with hard water but using distilled or r/o just takes one more potential problem out of the equation. If my tapwater was decent for growing you bet your ass I'd be using it! Unfortunately, it is utter shit. It comes out at over 600ppm most of the year! The first grow I did at my new house almost ended in utter failure. At this point I'd already been growing for over 10 years and had never had a problem. It took me nearly 2 months to nail down my water as the problem and shortly after I switched to r/o my plants recovered and were looking healthy again. To each their own. If you feel more comfortable with r/o, then use it. If your tapwater is working well and your results are satisfactory then use it! If distilled or bottled is your thing, then use it! How come nobody ever asks about spring water...store bought spring water what do you think? where we live its nasty ass egg fart smelling well water, i wouldnt drink it if i was dying of dehydration so we been using spring water the whole time...i got no complaints with it used it on mushroom dunks in the past and had no harm whatsoever on them.
Most people say to just leave tap water out and the chlorine will evaporate but 2/3 of water in the US is treated with chloramine that does not just evaporate thats why they use it. Nobody talks about chloramine it seems how does chloramine effect plants? I know where i used to live they treated with chloramine it did not do well at all with mushroom grows i wouldnt use it on living mycelium in dunks etc. A lot of times i would add a little bit of worm castings with the thought that the the chloramine would be used up on the castings. what do you guys think of that? an organic soil grow would a tablespoon of castings/gallon work to dissipate the chloramine?
Distilled water has no buffering capabilities which means its hard to keep a steady pH. i know with my pH meter its almost impossible to get a steady reading the meter is all over the place its because of distilleds lack of buffers. distilled water when left out will absorb carbon dioxide from the air making it more acidic as carbonic acid builds up in the distilled water. Ive measured distilled water with a pH of 4 thats was just because it was left out and old. If you boil distilled water the carbonic acid will evaporate returning the distilled water to a pH of 7.

That's true but I like to close in my variables by eliminating contaminants and nitrates and giving it accurate ppm readouts from my liquid fertilizers. I'm not enforcing it and Im just getting used to it. But I do like it. It's nice

BTW if you wanna get into a pissing match, ive seen pics of your plants, and mine are bigger and bushier. Bigger leaves and more fingers. Nice 50 watt cfl grows, one day you might grow up and build a sealed room with HID's. You, hanging house bulbs i use in my bathroom for vertical lighting, grow up and get 1000's hanging, Mr. my friends come and suck my d*ck saying how good my little plants are. I remember being 15. Apparently, i am not the only one that says distilled water is bad, if you read the post at the top of the page.
BTW your humidity is low in the pics you like to brag about, 37% in veg, wtf? 70% is optimal.
Back on topic. I use RO water because I like to know exactly whats in my water. It has 12ppm's and i dont really care about what they are. I know exactly how much of each nutrient i am putting in the water, with tap water you cant do that

What is a "high" ppm for tap considered, like 200 or something (just wondering for future reference)?

Yeah I am in agreement with you there, tap water is just fine until you get crazy high PPM's (my thought 7 800 maybe)and mine run 350 to 400 so they are high and I never have had an issue.

Your problem is that because your a kid you automatically think you know everything there is to know about growing because you want to be the big guy on campus. When I first saw some of your posts I could tell you had some idea but you would show signs of weakness with voo doo crap. So because you are a dimwhit that can keep his plants alive and looking good for the conditions you did in I will tell you just a bit of advice. Don't fuck with growers until after you have researched there grows, GOOGLED topics they talk about in threads to make sure they are mostly in line with science and experienced growers or you will step on it and get linked into knowledge submission.Yes I google and research a lot #1 because I don't want to look like a dillhole and 2 because there is so much shit on here so you sort whats real and whats not?. Sure you can have your own ideas /techniques but I am telling you original ones and successful ones are 2 different animals. You have a good green thumb so use your head and start studying the craft and using techniques and products that tried and true experienced growers use. That means listen more and talk less.....
Growing weed in a closet using CFL's so you can show off to your friends is one thing, growing in a closet putting out some weight that knocks people on their ass, having a reputation that is stellar and you do it only for yourself because you love to do it is when you will have the knowledge to play with the big dogs. (I don't even smoke weed I let my friends test my shit.)
Most of the time you can tell you knows what the fuck and who is blowing smoke by how long they have been here. Even then you get a guy with 4 K in posts that uses sand to kill root aphids and pees on his plants.
Now lets see how you respond to this before I go further.
