Opionons on the following LEDs btw I almost bought the duolux 600

I almost bought 3 duolux 600s, but thought I will use the "search" option before making the final decision' after seeing the comments that took me back to square one, I thought I finally found the perfect light... now options are

1) ProMax Grow 1200

2) Duolux 600

3) BalckDog Phytomax 800

4) California Light Work

5) ChilLed was my first pick but the website says preorder release date is June 19th

Any opinions from firsthand experience on any of those brands or other brands; would be appreciated,

I am not really on a budget but why pay 2k if I can get exactly the same for less... would lke to achieve highest yield per harvest not per year, would rather have fewer plants and spaced more than having a conjested tent, or I can add lights for the lower parts of a thick canopy, I just enjoy seeing big thick plants that actually have very high yields per plant.

Edit: I know yield is not only light dependent; but let's say we're running two tents and all other things equal which LED will give better yields

I would build your own cob setup.. Or if u dont want to get dirty, buy a timber kit.. More money, but same results.. Are u in canada or the us?

I would definately not using a blurple light. Better take some last generation white ones.
- QuantumBoards are really easy to use and will outperform any blurple unit. (HLG)
- 3.5K/CRI90 COB's are also a better choice... (too many options to buy)
I would recommend to read a few more grow journals.
- Samsung H-Series strips are another good choice. (Digikey)
These colorful lights are overhauled/outdated IMO!
The only one I would take are the boards from chillled, because they are far above the other lights you mentioned in terms of effiency and use latest LED technic.(same diodes as quantumboards with additional purple, blue and deepreds)

I've never done it before but I don't mind doing it, the problem is definitely not the skills it's more about the knowledge of what to do and what to group together, many things to factor in to build the "perfect" grow light with lots of trial and error for a beginner; ideally that's the fun part but the issue is I currently live in Africa where I can't find most of what is needed, so let's say I missed a part or need an extra part I'll have to order it online and wait for it arrive which means more shipping cost, and more time, that's why I am looking to buy 3-4 ready to use; meanwhile I can experiment... I'll definitely look at the Timber kits available. Tyvm

I am definitely open to all ideas, not opinion blind; that's quite a read thanks I'll start taking notes and see what I get to once I am done reading

I am sure that the wait for qb boards and Chillled boards is a big minus for you. I have built a few "stop gap" lights until I get all my QB stuff going just to stay growing and cheap. My girl thinks I am crazy for buying a light to throw it away in a few months but from what I hear it will be worth it. BTW my first 2 QB288 boards arrive tomorrow!

with a little thought its possible to future-proof your purchases (i.e run cobs really hot for a stop gap solution and when youre done with them turn them way down and they'll be about as efficient as your QBs)
