Ordered My First Spores!

So i just checked on em. Good and bad news. Have a few contaminations but noth to bad. 1 amazon and 1 alacabenzi had bad growth so i tossed those n the yard lol and i dumped the 2 creeper jars. They had some weird growth but it was so small we decided it wasnt worth keeping them and to just try agan. So im down to 4 jars. Now the giod news! The BTs are crazy!!! So far there the best jars and havnt had any problems. The other jars that r ok have good growth and i think they should pull threw. Has anyone ever seen this red growth??? Its like blood n there lol

I would just trash those contammed ones asap. Those BRF cakes arent the easiest route imo. But, the only route without a PC. Sucks so many are contammed. Did you innoculate in a somewhat sterile area? Did you sterilize the needle well? Is your verm top layer big enough?
 
Already dumped the bad ones lol first thing i did when i got there. I didnt have a real good way to steralize the jars before innoculation so im pretty sure thats whats wrong. The others are doin good but i definatly wanna get a pressure cooker for next time lol

Welcome good sir! lol yeah contam sucks. i steamed em but it was a real ghetto set up lol im surprised it worked at all actually. Definitly getting a big ass pot or pressure cooker. I still got the jars so im gonna re try with the 4 jars. Im probably gonna keep a creeper jar with me to see if i can get it to show any sign of growth and if not im probably gonna toss the syringe and order a differnt strain.
 
Damn that sucks tht all those have contam. But atleast you got 4 left that look good. The cakes i put in to fruit arnt rly doin much but they have some white fuzzy stuff that grew on em idk if thats more myc or mold or wut
 
Let contamination go, don't dwell on it, it is a part of the process. It is one thing to lament the loss of a crop of fine herb to mold, you spent many months from seed or even from clone through veg and into flower to say nothing of your investment in cash. But throwing out a jar or two in a process that only takes a month or so tops and can't have cost you more than 50 bucks? For anyone new to the game, many of us consider a 20 percent loss (after a few growing cycles, when trich and other nasties have settled into your house for good) is quite acceptable.
 
Thanks canndo lol not lettin it get to me to much. Like u said its a quick growth cycle so im not really upset. Now it if was my plants and they were a loss thats a difernt story hahahaha. 4 jars though to me is ok though i can deal with that considering 2 of them didnt show any growth at all so 3 outta 10 contaminated is cool lol. I tried to upload this pick yesterday but it wasbt working. Gonna check em today and c if theyv grown

those are called knots...pins will be along soon...go read more posts about growin' shrooms...read for 36 hours and then look for pins...you'll save yourself from peeking too often...and you'll learn a shitload about this hobby...hth
 
Mushroom growers will all have to admit - this stuff is perpetually fun. from watching the mycelium run to whitnessing in a matter of days a tiny ball of white grow to a pinhead and then to a full fleged mushroom. I have been doing this for many years and I still look forward to viewing the majesty of a good pinset where all of the mushrooms open at once and you have a wonderful cannopy. And then of course there is the effect when they are eaten.DSCF2052.jpg

Lol that sucks. R they growin pretty good? Im gonna try and check on mine today. havnt seen em n a couple days so hipefully mine have colinized more
 
Yea the pins are gettin bigger, little by little. Ive been trying to fan & mist 3x daily & gave em some more light & I think that helped some. I only have 2 of the second batch of jars that turned out so we'll see abt thoseee. :D
