Day 23 !!!! Watered today and also gave half strength of foxfarm trio! Suppose to be getting a week of great weather so hopefully I can leave the small greenhouse open longer! For the last week I have been opening it around 10 am and shutting it around 7 they still get light obviously because of the clear plastic but these cold nights have been hard on the plants ! IM hoping to leave the plants in the 1 gallon containers for another week or so ! Then I have 5 holes dug out to 60 gallons! each with organic compost, coco fiber, blood meal, cow compost, perlite and also 3 bags of sunshine mix #4 !! Hopefully these babies turn out alright this year ! As you can see I have many holes to dig haha
Corn field dirt will get compact and hard which isn't good for root growth. They will still grow in it but certainly not the best to grow in. I'd run with what DankBudzzz said.
