Overwater DWC / not enough air

Hi RIU,

Recently i upgraded my setup from one 5 gallon DWC to two using the same air pump namely a hailea 9602 - the guy at the hydro store said this pump would be sufficient to drive this. The air pump has a rating of 7l/min.

Basically my plants 3 weeks old started to really droop and exhibited the classic symptoms of over watering so in response i assumed the plants were suffocating and added another pump. My question is how long will they take to recover ?

One pump should be fine for 2 buckets. But if that is the problem, they should perk back up in no time, like 4-6 hours.

One plant is recovering - the other has first signs of root rot so i have pulled all the shitty roots off and changed the rez - i'll keep an eye on her for the next week ;-)

Yeah if it's root rot that's a different story. Read up on running a sterile dwc system or bennes to treat your water.

I think i'm on it i have removed the shitty roots changed the rez and she seems to be picking up - i have ordered some black airline and checked rez temps - about 18c ;-)

7 liters per minute? No way I would roll those dice

The idea is to create MAX DO

I use 27 liters per minute in ~ 2g and 2 plants. I would be using all 35 liters per minute, but one outlet is keep a mother going

They dont take long to show progress.....one of the great things about Hydro. I would just give plain water to plant with root rot and you will notice new white roots forming once you do that

Wow dude that's a monster pump - i know mine is ok as i have used it in numerous grows before and to much success - 6oz off 1 lemon skunk under a 250w HPS :-)

Anyway i'm on it now - i'll post some pics later cheers guys

Update :-

FML - managed to snap the head of the worse plant when cleaning the roots but at least she had white roots coming through !!! Anyone know if cannazyme helps break down old toots for new ?

The good news is the other one looks sweet ;-)
