Pablo's Balcony Bagweed Bush

Heh, don't get me started talking about titties Unhallowed. I'm a fan of all sizes and shapes. My only complaint would be fake ones. Never cared for 'em.

Just wanted to show the yellowing leaves today. Looks like many of the fan leaves are becoming pale green and yellowing and falling off. But, the smaller leaves close to the branch/buds are still nice and green. Seems to be normal. I guess my only concern is I haven't really seen pics of yellowing leaves on other peoples healthy outdoor grows. Maybe folks are not taking pics of the yellowing leaves?

The branches are definitely taking shape, filling in with flowers, and starting to look like what I've seen on here before.

I planted the germ'd EasyRyder seed in some FFOF yesterday. Should sprout in a few days hopefully.

Well, the leaves continue to yellow and fall off like it's 1999. Still seems to be healthy, but perhaps I never got enough N into it earlier on. Probably because I waited a bit too long after the miracle gro nutes were exhausted to start feeding her. I gave her another capful of fish emulsion with today's watering, along with Big Bloom and molasses.

Also found a critter chilling out on my plant. Not sure if it was harmful but I flicked it off anyway. Pretty ugly little bug.

The EasyRyder sprouted yesterday. I'll let it strengthen for a few weeks and then transplant into a 3 gallon pot.

Cool, thanks bluesdad. I've never had either a lowryder or easyryder. Easyryder is a hybrid strain of lowryder #2 x AK47. Supposed to mature relatively quickly and can be grown through November, depending on your climate.

Nice strong looking plant and all those tops... Mmmmm. :)
You seem to really know your shit Pablo I am excited to see how the easyryder comes out as well as how your harvest comes out. I may have missed it but is it just bagseed?

Hey Johnny, thanks. Yep, it's a bagseed. Seems indica dominant. I'm looking forward to seeing if I can get the Easyryder through harvest with this late of a start. Cheers.

I actually think thats a pretty sweet bug.
Just goes to show some of the life you dont normally notice.

Lookin good though, My leaves are all fallin off now :weed:

Thanks again for visiting Unhallowed. Yeah, I just flicked off the bug to the ground below. Didn't want to kill it because I wasn't sure if it was harmful to my plant.

Your plants look close to harvest, tho and yellowing leaves at that stage is definitely normal. Mine seem to be yellowing prematurely. I'm still chalking it up to lack of experience with nutes and gauging my plant, and the use of the miracle gro soil. Next grow will be better.

Enjoy the weekend. Cheers.

Hi dababydroman. This is my first grow, so I have no frame of reference from which to gauge the results of using the molasses. The plant is filling out and buds are getting fatter. But that's what it would be doing anyway at this time.

Kinda like a lot of the various bloom nutes out there. People say they love them, they work, their buds get a lot fatter, etc, etc. Unless you do a side by side comparison with the same seeds, medium, etc, - one with whatever latest fancy nute, and one without, it's tough to say. It's entirely possible the plant would have reacted the same without dumping an extra $50 of nutes into it.

In a nutshell, I have no clue whether the molasses is adding anything beneficial or not. Wish I could be more helpful, but that's the way it goes. Cheers.

Quick update w/pics. Damn, this plant won't stop yellowing. Still seems healthy and filling in nicely. The small leaves are staying nice and green.

And the Easyryder is getting bigger every day.

Cheers.

Man, this plant is pissing me off. It's my first time growing, so maybe I'm being overly dramatic - but I've been worrying about whether this will make it to the finish line successfully.

I've never seen anyone's (relatively healthy) plant losing this many leaves at such a rate. Last feeding I gave it a dose of Grow Big, rather than the Big Bloom in an attempt to get some N in it at this late stage. Nobody to blame but myself, tho.

The Easyryder is looking strong at day 12. Cheers.

Hey man! No worries....your plant is just finishing up. Even if is sheds nearly all its leaves you are just fine. Of course only you can decide exactly when the finish it off. Cut a sample, quick dry and try! Looks good to me!!!

Hey Old Coot, thanks for sticking around and for the reassurance! Heh, I must've slept through the Rollitup "journal marketing 101" class - not many folks showing an interest. That's to be expected with all of the various grow journals I suppose. I'm assuming she's got at least a few weeks to go based on what I've seen on here. I'm definitely glad I went with a feminized autoflower for my next grow. 2-3 months with a much shorter plant will be more manageable on my balcony than 7+ months for a big bush.

I've got some awesome pics of thrips and thrip eggs! You can see the winged thrip at the top left of the first pic, with the little round egg lower to the right. Some other shots of the eggs too.

This plant and this grow is a pretty good guide of what not to do. I've been battling the thrips with Neem oil this entire grow, and thought had been managing them fairly well. But, I stopped the Neem treatments awhile back. This is the first time I've seen the actual bugs/eggs, let alone right on top of my buds.

So, I had no choice but to give it another dose of Neem oil. I will follow up with another dose in a few days to hopefully kill or significantly fuck them up.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I think my options are somewhat limited at this stage. I'm not sure exactly how long I have left to go, but I'm thinking 4 weeks?

The last pic is the Easyryder at 18 days.

At least there's plenty of college football and golf on today. Cheers.

Well its a little late now for this thrips remedy, but some time back I read that mild soap and water sprayed will kill them. It also says to mist em with plain water later on when your problem is solved. Are you flushing her now? Dont skip the molasses though, this is the time when it does its job best. I think you are right, about two more weeks. Take her inside for 36 hour nap in the dark and cut her down. Your shit is gonna be awesome!

Thanks Old Coot. I was thinking more like 4 weeks? I'm only guessing based on the other grows I follow on here. I wonder if thrip eggs smell funny when you smoke 'em. Hopefully I won't have to find out. Cheers.

I just noticed the female preflowers are already showing on the Easyryder at day 19. I guess that's what it's supposed to do. Cool little plants.
