Pablo's Socal Balcony Grow

Updated pics of the Kandy Kush. Might do more topping and LST'ing today.
I wouldnt trip off the yield of the ryder plants. they really arent meant to yield much as you probably know already. but the candy kush is looking goood! i just bought an 1/8 last week of some from a local dispensary its some good shit.

Thanks man. Yeah, I'm noticing that about the Ryder strains. Maybe the Diesel Ryder will produce a bit more. I'm gonna have my hands full with the Kandy Kush. Just trying to keep her from getting too big. Cheers.

Good luck with whatever strain you choose.

I hadn't seen that thread until you posted it - just read through about a hundred pages - some good info, lots of talk though.
I appreciate your response and look forward to reading more of your posts - you seem like quite a genuine person. Best of luck to you as well!

hahah that would be a problem especially on the balcony. What about the smell what you gonna do then?

Yep, it can be a bit dicey. It's a legal grow, but I don't like everyone knowing my business. Either way, the manager is a card carrying smoker (after speaking with me and advising him to do same) and all the neighbors are cool. I just want to avoid growing a bush like I did last year (pics attached). That was my first grow, and I didn't do anything to restrict the size other than topping. And it smelled. So, for now, no plans to do anything about the smell. Do you know whether Kandy Kush is a particularly smelly strain?

Thank you razka, that's nice of you to say. Yep, that autoflower thread is a long read, a lot of which can be skipped. After I posted my last response to you, I sat out on my balcony today and sniffed my plants. While my Top 69 is almost ready to chop, I do believe it is less stinky than either the Big Devil or the Blueberry that are in full bloom right now. Not a scientific poll, but that is the nicest, fullest autoflower I've grown so far - and possibly the least smelling? I only bought one of those seeds, tho. I think they were pricey. You any closer to picking a strain?

Well the 1/8th I had didnt have too much odor compared to some purple strains I usually carry on me. So i think your be straight!

But fuck! that plant you grew last year was nice and big. The colas look huge. How much you end up yielding with that plant?

Cool, thank you. Yeah, you can see it's way over the top of my railing. That plant is probably just under 5 feet. I'd like to keep my current plant to 3 - 4 feet.

I chopped that plant early because of budworms (hence my paranoia about them). 5 mason jars full. It kept my friend in free bud for 7 months. I documented that grow here: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/215449-pablos-balcony-bagweed-bush.html

Haha pablo thats a huge bush last year! haha thats not noticeable or anything:)

Hah, nice! I just toked some of my Easyryder. Good stuff. Yeah that friggin plant drove me nuts. I had no clue. I've done quite a bit of LST'ing and topping on the Kush plant so far. It was suggested that I do some supercropping, but I'm not 100 percent convinced that's the way to go. I just don't want to end up with a crowded mass of tangled limbs, because I didn't properly plan out how best to achieve my desired results.

I am gonna try the LST thing next year i think. I guess that aiming the nodes correctly (horizontally) is important? Does it tangle up with autoflowers?

I just bend the branches over and tie them down. I'm trying to arrange them in a way that makes sense. Not sure how that's going yet. No chance of tangling with the autos. Did you change your avatar?

Well, I've already bought some, just wasn't sure which to grow. Thought you might have some ideas of other ones that would be low smelling. I'm going to be trying all of them, might have to cut some down if they smell too much though. They are: auto-fem snowryder, auto-fem blue mystic and fem northern lights. Those are the 3 least smelling plants I have read about - as well as short growers. It will be an outdoor grow and the seedlings have just popped.

Thanks for your subjective review of your current plants - I do appreciate it!

Cool, if you start a grow journal let me know. I've been curious about the Blue Mystic myself. Cheers.

Nice, looking forward to the pics. Here's my Top 69 at day 67. Close, but not quite. Still putting out white pistils.

Looks like it could go quite a bit more from the pics - really need to check with microscope to know for sure.

I'm excited to be growing again, has been almost 5 years since last crop!

Thanks for your input, razka. I don't have a scope, so I'll just eyeball it. Good luck with your grow.
