Pablo's Socal Balcony Grow

Thanks King. I tied branches down without giving much thought to it. I may do a bit of adjusting to spread them out a bit. It seems kinda clustered in the center of the plant.

Unfortunately, no pepper(s). Just pepper. One lonely little pepper. I'll be giving plenty of tomatoes away to the neighbors and property manager, tho. I'll never eat all those. All part of my master plan.

I chopped the Blueberry today at day 65. She was done, despite the breeder's estimation of 70 days. The Big Devil on the other hand, still could use a few more days at day 65, despite the breeder's estimation of 63 days.

You can see a bit of darkening on the top, and upon inspection and poking, there was a tiny bit of dead material inside the top. My thoughts are that it could be that one of the moth eggs hatched, tiny worm emerged, ate some bud and died. In other words, the BT doing its job - but not much you can do to remove the material that was eaten and the dead little worm? In any event, no real damage.

You can also see that side branching is virtually non-existant. For my grows, that's par for the course. I'm hoping LST'ing will help with that.

Oh, and still plenty of aphids underneath some of my little sugary leaves. It doesn't appear that Neem has any effect on them. Only thing that works is daily inspection and removal/crushing - which isn't always an option. Spraying any other type of solution is also problematic because they will continue to appear until harvest time - right when I'd rather not be spraying anything.

The Top 69 bud was placed into a curing jar.

The Top 69 is lookin blue and sexy!
That's really sad about the aphids :( The only other thing I can think that might help get rid of those bastards would be to spray them thoroughly with a hose attachment mister in the morning and in the evening as the sun rises and sets. Mold might be an issue at this point if they're left wet but if you have a wind tunnel on your balcony, it could take care of that moisture so it doesn't stay long enough to mold the bud. You could also put a fan on them...or create a wind tunnel...I've done it with 2 big wooden boards and it worked fine and dandy. If these are all tried methods, sorry bud, I wish I could be of more help.

Thanks guys. My plants generally get plenty of wind on the balcony, so misting them with water may be an option which I haven't tried yet. They are never a problem until late in the plants development. And so far they haven't attacked the buds themselves.

Hey Pablo, this stuff works wonders on the aphids, and is safe to use during flowering too.

Thanks King, no worries tho as they haven't harmed my crop yet.

Bill, thanks for the tip. I will look into it. I've got some Safer solution but have been hesitant to use it late in flowering. This may be a good alternative.

Looking Good pablo. The lst made those stems THICK!

Good luck with the aphids. Try and get a hold of that stuff billcollector suggested

Its similar to neem oil, but does not have the nasty smell that neem has, I used it on my corn out back, and on the MJ, It killed all my root maggots, aphids, and spider mites. In 2 sprayings 3 days apart.

Big Devil at day 66. I will probably chop her today.

Chopped the Big Devil. Aphids must be picky because there was none on this plant. This was the smelliest, stickiest plant I've ever harvested.

Thanks Weedoozie. Those were just what I had available at the time. My first auto (Easyryder) was planted in a 3 gallon pot. The root ball didn't even make a dent in it. My other 2 autos that I have growing currently are in what appear to be about 2 gallon. But yes, those are the smallest pots I've used. And I'm pretty sure they didn't even come close to being root bound. I might get some pics of the rootball later on once it's dried out.

I just hate wasting 3 gallons of FFOF on a plant that has a lifecycle of 60 - 75 days. Stuff isn't cheap.

I readjusted the tie downs on the Big Devil and Diesel Ryder. Fed today with a bit of Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom.

Weedoozie, I posted a pic of the 3 pot sizes. The smallest pot is what I just harvested the last 2 plants out of. The pot in the background is the 3 gallon. The 2 in the foreground appear to be around 1.5 - 2 gallons maybe?

Thank you Rtoke, and thanks for stopping by. Yes, I live in California where medicinal use is legal if you have a Doctors prescription. My soil is Fox Farms Ocean Forest which was purchased at a local growing supply store. Cheers.
