yea do what toking said and say your grow got all fucked up and start askin him if he knows anyone interested in some grow lights as your are trying to recoop your costs,

then keep bullshiting him tellin him youve had it and with everything and him being in trouble really made you think about your life, tell him you decided to join the Army:mrgreen: tell him you are going to basic training soon and that is part of the reason you chopped your grow and you need to get rid of your lights asap so you have some extra money to go out and party before you leave and go to the army:mrgreen:

wish him well in his legal troubles and tell him you may know a good lawyer who is freinds with you mom. make him think your napolean as long as he doesnt think you are growing,

if you really wanna seal the deal and if your plants are small and easy to move have him over for one last time just to hang out before you get deployed move your plants somewhere else for that day and just happen across your grow room empty and show him the lights you are trying to "sell":mrgreen:

even if he was never gonna narc you out, you just bought yourself peace of mind

Enough pressure will make anyone flip...take heed to some of these suggestions.

Anyone can be a friend in good times...its when the pressure's on that people show their true selves. Good thing you picked up on what may be happening. Get it squared away and start anew when the dust settles. I'd wait until your "friend's" case is resolved.

maybe the best idea would be to look at the upsides and the downsides.. how many plants do u say u have? and how much cost have u put in? its really not that big of deal when u look at the big picture... even if your growing a dozen plants, thats bad news with the law, real bad news... if u wanna be sure about everything just can the operation... its not really worth it in the end... also if tim's life has gone as downhill as much as u have described than u never know... people with nothin to lose can do some pretty unexpected things..

I can tell you a few things that i learnt from experiance. I have been ratted on before and it wasnt pretty. I was surrounded by 4 undercover cruisers my car was taken from me and my house was searched. They took 10 grand in cash I had inside a safe along with a lot of valuable i had in the safe like jewlery. I use to sell drugs. Somthing I am not proud of. It is in the past though and I have since moved on. Well anyways a kid that I grew up with and had known forever got caught doing heroin in a school bathroom. I had stopped dealing with him prior to this shit cuz he was always short on money. So he was getting in big trouble cuz it was a school zone. So he decided to rat me out to save his ass. The way he did this is what you need to look out for. This is why I am telling you this. In order for your house to get searched they need evidence to prove probaball cause. It is a very big deal and judges dont just hand out home search warrents. What this kid did to me was call me and do three controlled buys on me. I should have known when all of a sudden this clown had money. So any ways he would meet with police and they would give him exactly 80 dollars to buy a certain somthing off of me. He would be on foot each time i met him and get in my car. I guess this was so the police could watch him meet me and exchange the money they gave him in for drugs. Then he would go to them and show that the trasaction took place. It takes three of theese controlled buys for them to get a search warrent. They were able to take my car because I was in it when I sold. If I was in my house they could have taken that. So be wary of this person. I mean very weary. Be weary of anyone for a very long while untill his case is over and he has done his time. They cant just come into your house without proof. So dont give any one any. His word is not enough. So any ways I did get my car back but not the money and goods. Oh yeah about a month later the fucking rat got hit by a car and is now paralized. Wich he is kinda lucky this happend to him cuz he would have been missing for sure.

Don't know about the the three times deal it's all about timing and what they can prove, My brothers had that same problem

Does anyone know the legal requirement for a search warrant, I mean just for growing, not selling, doesnt the informant has to see the grow befoure they get a warrant?

dude, i hate to tell you this, but if you live in the US, they can get a search warrant just because some dude said you grow. hearsay in this country is probable cause.

if you're really that paranoid, i would pull the plants and either shut down the op all together, or start growing tomatoes until this tim guy is taken care of.

come on 5 years I have known my best friends for 19 and haven't told him nothing. You need to punch tim in the mouth over and over again so he can't speak...he will rat you out, they always do to make themselves look better

no cop is going to reduce someone's sentence because they narked out some kid growing 3 plants. that's like trying to bribe a traffic cop with a $10 bill.

Agreed. A junkys word is not enough to get a search warrant for someone growing 3 personal plants. Be realistic here.

Hearsay is certainly not enough for a search warrent to enter some ones house. I dont know were you heard this but its false. Well atleast its not enough in MA. If this was true people could just go around narcing on people they hate just tou get cops to fuck with them and tear there house apart. In my case the D.A. himself told me it took three controlled buys before the judge could issue a search warrent. They are really strict about this type of shit. They were only allowed to enter at day time and could only search my room or spaces were I keep my belongings, and could only make the search if someone was home. THere are many guidlines they have to follow. I was caught red handed selling drugs to a person while police watched. Yet they still had to set me two more times to get one. I was dealling with somthing worst than class D too. I'll tell you one thing for sure though. It is always the one's closest to you who fuck you over the most. Steer clear of this person and people he is involved with like his girlfriend. And when you get that fuzzy sounding phone call with him asking you wierd questions about your plants be sure to say what plants I have no clue what you are talking about.
