So good new bad news kiddies:
Bad News(well for you not me): I am getting a job! what's bad about this you ask? well 99% of my time on RIU is spent on my sister's wi-fi while i watch my nephews, since i wont be at her place daily i am loosing my internet connection (except a few hours a week i pick up my neighbors) so i obviously cannot moderate this comp anymore

Good News: I talked to honkey and he is willing to pick up my slack and finish her up. I will still provide the spore prize and will still be tuning in to catch the progress, but all questions and finial decisions are on Honkey.

Hi Psychild,

Yes other people have Bubbler contraptions, but theirs still contain the entire root system in their cups. They used mesh pot inside their party cups.

Which is what I mentioned earlier....I have the plant in a cup right now with the roots hanging in inside of half of another cup. If I cut the cup that holds the plant and medium (in my case soil) to fit inside of the cup 16oz cup without giving me any extra root room (Making a net pot out of the cup that holds the soil and plant) then this should be legal correct? ((Keep in mind this is still a DWC grow, not a soil grow...I will not be top feeding.))

That was on a completely different subject...I had a plant inside of a 1.5 gal res, the plant that I have pictured a few posts back is a plant inside of a 16oz res. (which really was only about 6-8 because the other cup had to fit down inside of it.

I would like to try this what kind of lighting and wattage are you using? Should I be starting my cup now to enter later or does everyone start from seed at the same time. Thanks.

The issue is not what size of container you had the roots in that were going through the cup (1.5g or half a 16oz), Its that there was a second container period.
Even just using half a second cup gives you more container space for the "growing" period (16oz + 8oz = 24oz) Granted if you cut the bottom off the first cup you could cram it all in one cup, but thats not where the problem is, its cause the plant use`s this extra root space to grow better and flourish more because the root mass is larger and more spread out.

The other pic`s I posted prior as examples of acceptable DWC containers all had their root mass`s contained to 16oz of grow space for 100% of the duration of their grow`s. You would just be cramming your together last minute. Ive spoke to other contestants and they all feel the same way about it.

For this contest the decision is no. You would just have an un-fair advantage and the contestants have spoke.

But... I like your style and would be happy to have you help me moderate the next contest by running the new DWC portion.

okee dokee.. now that i got the pic thingy fingered out,it, lights 2-(23wt=100 a piece) 6500k cfls in a home made reflector,(bell mount duct tap 14") gh flora series three part,r.o. water from dollar store(always checking pkg/exp dates)temps 75 with fan on low... (in a open bay room). would love for some help with this siince i have two failed attempts at this.... also in memory of lil pineapples passing, i bought some soil and added a lil bit more perilite in it.. never heard the name before, "jungle growth"??? and started a fem gigabud,cali hash from dinafem,and one more stinking pineapple (G-13). no pre germ... just a 1/4 inch deep,lighty sprayed from spray bottled every evening,in the shadows of the light till i see them. so any help there to would be cool.
