Hey jberry,

This is a pic from my first grow of Casey. A screen isn't necessary for training very bushy strains like casey. Barely consumes any time.

I only spent five minutes in total to train her, with sticks. I fimmed and super cropped, once the plant was tall enough I bent it using 6 sticks around the corner. In a week or so I added a screen and flipped em.

BTW JB you inbox is full. RIU gives limited space, I find myself having to delete pms on the regular.

Thanks man, appreciate it.

Last round Casey was in a really small place and all the 600 was focusing really well on it, so I was able to get huge colas like it was a 1K.

This round the CJ is in a much bigger light and the 600 is spreading out and CJ is getting much less light per sq ft. I really hope to pull off some decent sized colas this round.

Haha nah. im on the East coast man. haha Amsterdam is coming up next year.
East Coast in the Hizzzouse. I remembering reading in a magazine back in the day that Diesel was going for $7000 for a #, in NY. May be about a decade ago, does that sound.

Thanks bro, that's from my first Casey Jones Grow. Hope this round does as good.

Holy trichomes batman! I know that was korny, but it just popped in my head. lol Been smokin some mango out of the bubbler while I admire your ladies. They look so frosty man, it is just amazing how you can improve on your incredible previous rounds. I think you have found your calling B.

Thank you my friend, you always boosted my spirits and given me crucial input whenever I needed.
From the bottom of my heart man, I am really happy for the both for your new setup and the amazing harvest that your are going to put out anytime now.

Little experiments constantly seem to be a part of our grows. I think that is crucial in kicking things up a notch.

I am bummed that you dropped the extra doh on the Bloom line and it didn't make a positive difference, but on the other hand I think that was a very necessary step to give you a peace of mind when you are running your original H&G nute regimen, in knowing that it is definitely much more in the optimal range of nutrition profile your plants like.

Couple of thoughts I want to share with you, as we have been learning from each other from the beginning, and you have definitely provided me with a lot support, so these are some observations/research from this round, some of it might be of interest to you.

I am using the least amount of nutrient strength this round then ever, and I am also the happiest this round. I hand feed my girls once a day, and I have probably gone up to total EC of 2.0 (1000ppm @ .5) for only 1 or 2 feeds. The rest of the time I have stayed around EC of 1.0-1.4, averaging ~1.2 EC for my entire round. 600ppm is unheard of during peak flowering, yet it seems to be working great for me. If I start going higher I start seeing tip burn. Focusing on micro-life, enzymes, and humics/fulvics can definitely make the up take of nutrient a lot more efficient, thus requiring much less nutes. This helps in keeping the lowest amount of salt buildup and lock out, thus making everything available.

This round I also fluctuated my pH a hefty bit, from 5.4-6.1. I am not running all organics, so I reckon that different elements are taken up better at different pH.

BTW drip cleaner is indeed an amazing product, in making sure you have salt build up the entire round. I reckon the drip cleaner is pretty much chemical chelating agents like EDTA that bind your nutes and makes them available to the plant. I really wanted to use this and actually even picked up a small bottle. I never ended up using it because I found out that EDTA will drive the quantity of the beneficial herd in the pots to shit. This round I really wanted to focus on the bennies so I looked for some thing else that would chelate but not harm the bennies. Fulvic Acid turns out to be natures Chelating Agent. It does a lot more then that, but its' chelation properties are indeed amazing and a huge contributing factor on how well it works.

We don't usually notice when our micro herd is suffering because we run synthetics and they don't need to be broken down to be taken up by the plant. We are infact using the micro herd mostly for its secondary purpose, which is root health. A 100% organic grower who relies on the micro herd to produce enzymes that will break down/digest/transfer all the nutes in the soil. The full on organic gardener will almost immediately notice the plants suffering when exposed to EDTA.

I am still using cal-mag with EDTA and a lot of other synthetics which are probably constantly killing the micro herd, that I keep adding from time to time, but for future rounds I am trying to find an organic based nutrition line, which will tolerate the micro herd and not destroy it. Step 1 for me is def gonna be to find a good organic source of Ca, Mg, and N.

My bad raider didn't intend for the post to be this long, just wanted to share some things that I think might be of interest to you and some other folks.

My god, what a sexy grow. Those colas on your first CJ are unreal btw. Subscribed. Nice job
Hello, welcome to the journal. Really appreciate you kind words.

I must ask before I end up calling you bro or something, your screen name "GyrlGrower," is it indicating that you grow female marijuana plants hence girl grower or does it mean you are a girl who is growing. LOL I think I might be over thinking this a bit much.

Thanks for the detailed brekdown B. Focusing on the micro-life seems to be working for you. It is also good to see comformation on the lower nute strength actually producing healthier plants. I love the full power. I got roots in about 8 days in the cloner vs 14 days last time. I used the full power, great white, 1/4 strength a/b, root excel, algen extract and some b-1. Personally, I don't know of a totally organic line that will work in hydro, but will be watching you experiment with it.

Right on bro, I am glad you were able to cut down on the cloning time. 8 Days is excellent bro, some strains are just really finicky when cloning, so it can be really helpful to use some good ingredient to boost the rooting time.

Also you are correct, about organic hydro nutes. I have yet to find a 100% organic products that could be run in rezzy for hydro. I have a much smaller set up than you, so hand watering isn't too bad for me but for an ebb n flow set up, all organic nuts at the moment I think are impossible. The nutes we are running are top notch synthetics with natural chelating agents, the final product from this method is very comparable to top notch full on organic flowers.

Lookin spectacular man! That is gonna be some killer smoke. I am so envious that you are getting close and I am just starting. As for the organics in hydro, I am pulling the Bloom from my line up all together. I added it a few days ago and my reserviors are layed with slime already. I am so pissed, because now I have to drain and clean them. It is back to the H&G line only, I never had any issues with keeping the res clean until I started the Bloom. It would probably work well for soil or hand watering, but not for hydro. I might just use it fro my outdoor plants.
I wanted to ask your opinion on something. I know you did a lot of research on H&G and I have a lot of cocos A/B left that I want to use up, but I am going to switch to rockwool. I know the aqua flakes is what I should be using, but from what I understand the cocos just has extra cal/mag in it. Do you know if it would hurt anything to use up my cocos before buying the aqua flakes?
