word to that son!
What did you just pull that clone out off that it is that wet? I am still can't wait to try your clonning tea.
It was sitting in a dome on a bed of perlite. The perlite was thoroughly drenched in the tea mix before I pulled the clone out. Sorry if the picture was misleading, your observation is on the right track, if the RW cube was this wet it would take much longer to root. But once it is rooted I make sure to have a lot more water in the perlite so the roots could happily grow in the tea.
Man every time I visit a collective and see their clones, they have much thinner roots which are a bit much on the yellowish side. Some nutes I know will def dye the roots, for some reason I am so used to of the milky white roots that are thick and have tons of fuzzy hairs, so when I see roots that aren't white I end up thinking that something is wrong.
Really looking forward for you to try it. LOL I keep posting the recipe over and over yet folks still keep asking what it is, thinking I am trying to keep a secret. I look forward to getting raider's seal of approval on my mix.
hey bender, nice grow over there
im going to try the clone tea but without R/O do you think it will still be effective?
and how do you know when to stop watering the smart pots? they dont leak out water telling you when to stop do they?
thanks
Tapwater will not work as good. There is chlorine and chloramine in tap water, and you cannot remove the latter by simply evaporating it. Anyhow even if you filter it, I still always got better results with RO as my tap water is garbage. I use 0-3ppm RO which gives me full control over all the dissolved particles, and that is how I like it, being in full control. Ooops almost forgot to mention why chlorine/chloramines are a problem, the main power of the mix I feel is in the beneficials, I suspect that even roots excelurator is just a concentrated mix of certain bacterias. Chlorine/chloramines will destroy completely or at least hinder the beneficials from doing their magic.
about your smart pot question, I need to know what medium you are talking about, as it would vary greatly. I don't have a set method with coco for watering, I have tried all kinds of things, run off vs no run off @ various rates, and it all seems to work. Your nutes and their dosages can really be some of the main deciding factors in determining how often and how much to water.
There are plenty of other coco gurus on here, jberry being my top one. I am still really new and am very far from having everything dialed in, so don't take my advice too serious. Cloning is much easier to work with because the experiments take less time/space/effort, so I am much closer to my final goal of rooting clones in a single day.
